How fast is each CPU core?

Very fast.

And an impressive system, though why didn't you choose a reputable GPU manufacturer, like XFX, BFG Technologies or eVga? It is a good idea if you want hardware to last.

BFG and eVga aren't widely available here and XFX is rediculously overprized where I live.

Also, Holland has good laws about warranty. My PC probably won't break down untill it's time for an upgrade anyways...

When it comes down it it's just a matter of luck, not the brand. Let's hope your computer will last until it can't cope with the games anymore. 8)

True dat.

Anywho, here's my first notable screenie taken on my new PC.
Warning: Rainbow 6: Vegas spoilers ahead!
Btw, that SS is lower res than the game itself.

Wow, that's a nice computer you've got there. :)

How's the 8800 working out? I've been trying to upgrade to the GTS for a while, but due to case restraints I can't fit one in.

My 8800 gtx barely fits in the case. It's HUGE!

It's really powerfull, though; I haven't had any framedrop problems with any game yet Rainbow 6: Vegas being the newest game on my PC.

Gotta try out FEAR, Prey and maybe Oblivion to to be able to tell how powerfull it really is.

I bet 10 frags that oblivion will lag a little when you're outside and have all the grass, trees, distant lands, and such cranked up to max. It is my understanding that animations and physics calculations are handled by the CPU only. It looks like like your CPU is on the same level as my AMD 5600, so if you get oblivion, lemme know if your rendeing is still smooth outside.

Huh? R6 Vegas is more demanding than all of those games. :?

Oh. I just heard that Fear and Oblivion were rather heavy on the PC. Prey I want to check out portals.

Seems logical, though, since R6:V is next-gen. Anyone wants to recommend a heavier game?

Bioshock could be heavier, but I'm not perfectly sure.

I don't know for me to be able to play Bioshock on my Pc with High settings is kinda weird. It will play on his computer like a charm.

rootkit?

Author:  datsylel [ Sat Sep 22, 2007 1:17 am ]
Post subject:  Finally, my new PC's here!

Yes, a rootkit. It installs securom and a DRM file hidden by a rootkit.

Bioshock doesn't include any rootkits, just excessive & pathetic copy protection measures. If it included a rootkit it'd be illegal in many countries.

And by the way:

Spreading facts/rumors about a game that encourages people to pirate it, and in the same post admitting your illegal activities, is generally a bad idea.

If you'd like to discuss this further, it'll be in a PM. Let's move on with the thread and show us Bioshock screens. 8)
