Yeah so i booted up windows this morning..... logged in.... ----> crash every time i log in. I havn't had a working anti virus for a few weeks..... mostly because my dads router/firewall disallowing AVG(anti virus) to download updates. Everything was fine till this morning.... the only thing that ever really crashed my comp was the UT3 demo. So any ways..... I'm probably going to delete windows off my mac and leave it that way. shit.... i cant use windows right when i see that this is available for download.... F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate |

Yeah, that really sucks. Well i dunno, you should at least of had Ad Aware SE and SpyBot 1.5 running on it, those two work like a charm for me. |

Putting the jokes aside, you got two options in a situation like this; boot up Windows in command line and run the virus scanner's cmd function from there (yes, AVG has that), or reformat. The former does sound good, but it is a pain in the ass if you aren't an expert. I don't know how the process fully works myself. Seriously, how did you get a virus? I've been using Windows XP for 5 years and not once have I encountered any malware at all. I guess this is natural selection at work; the most qualified survive. |

I wasnt that careful.... besides anti virus i had no other protection, and that didnt even work out to well. i downloaded a lot of game demos, thats about it. Also i used steam a lot. i dont know how i got a virus that crashes my comp every time i log in. |

Just bad luck I guess. The crashes could also have a technical-related source, which would mean reInstalling Windows fixes it. And that would not delete stuff from your hard drive afaik. |
