Well, I live in California, and the recent fires in Malibu, Canyon Country, San Diego, and other cities have a pretty drastic effect here in my town. Today the sun was freaking orange all day, and the air was sort of thick. It felt like hell today; although it wasn't hot, it was so hard to concentrate and stuff.

I just hope the smoke clears up Wednesday and Thursday. The fire did enough damage already, and I start to feel like Armageddon's coming here XD.

I can't find an article on it, despite it's sheer size. At least Bjossi's in Iceland... right? That's a refreshing change compared to what's going on here now :P.

I saw news about the fires today and the numbers are just terrifying, I hope all the firemen will manage to put an end to the fires as soon as possible, before it gets worse than it already is.

But yeah, right now it isn't too hot here, it was floating around 2°C today I'd say.

That sounds like paradise to smoke-infested air and choked up orange light to me. I'm surprise that the fires didn't reach any of my town or its neighboring cities.

yeah, those fires are bad news.
We have big fires here quite often, had some major disaters earlier this yeah, but I think the impact on people in California is way bigger than what we experience (although the size of the damaged area is bigger for ours).
Really not nice for all those affected.

Or the environment.

Each forest fire (particulary ones of this magnitude) does in fact bring us that much closer to an atmospheric catastrophe. What good is any statement made by burning if it only results making the earth uninhabitable?

Assuming this had something to do with arsons in the past month, I would love to know what these fire junkies think they are really achieving.

Yea I was watching my local news channel and they were reporting on it. I also saw in depth coverage on Good Morning America. Devastating fire...

If this was arson, the people responsible deserve a ticket to hell.

You realize this is a terrible argument to make, right? "Blind and toothless" notwithstanding, there are laws against cruel and unusual punishments.

Ok, I'm stopping this discussion before it goes farther. As far as I know people are entitled to their opinions, allow me and him to think that the eye for an eye rules apply, just like you are entitled to think otherwise.
Keep this thread on topic now.

Am I not entitled to state my opinions of other people's opinions?

Although this line of discussion would probably end in an off-topic flamewar so I guess I'll stop it at that.
