I think reinstalling the program is the way to go here. |

MSN is a very unreliable service, I stopped visiting it after it began rejecting my password (mysteriously) and the recovery process put me through an infinite loop of web pages and e-mailing that never actualy got around to fixing the problem. Have you considered a different messenger? |

MSN has been working flawlessly for me ever since I started using it over a year ago. |

I have been using MSN for a really long time, and yes, I reinstalled, and yes, I use Yahoo Messenger and ICQ too. Just that all my friends only got MSN, so I can't chat with them. And now they're asking why I'm not online... Crap. |

Try using Trillian. It lets you use your ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN accounts all in one convenient messenger. I don't know how to use it, but there are others on here that probably do. |

Ah, I see. Well, if you can't get that working, I would recommend the alternative either way. |

msn live is alright but trillian is definately what you should be using EnteR, it'll package everything up for you so you don't need all those other programs running, plus its a lot more stable than anything microsoft could hope to put out |

Which leads us to this question; is it actually the code in MS's applications that cause them to be unstable, or is it the millions of moronic users that find amazing ways to break anything & everything from Media Player to Outlook? Anyway, I also recommend Trillian. It is always preferable to have as few programs installed as possible. Plus it is vastly different, might give you more luck than default MSN. |

Would I be reading between the lines, Bjossi, if I were to assume you mean that computer-savvy people don't use MS and, therefore, have no problems, while others who are not so knowledgeable about computers find ways to mess everything up? |

You'd be reading between the lines incorrectly. The reason macs work good is because they are idiot-proof. Plus they are so rare on the market that no partypooper bothers to program viruses and other malware for them. Linux is successful because only the advanced users got the balls to try it out, the beginners wouldn't dare to touch it. Windows is not idiotproof and therefore idiots got lots of things they can screw up, while the advanced users should have no problems as long as the applications are stable programming-wise. But unfortunately errors and bugs are unavoidable in any piece of software as you all probably know. Which is why service packs and hotfixes exist for Windows operating systems. But of course MS have put out crap before, namely Windows 95, 98 and ME. (don't confuse 98 with 98 SE, the latter is much much better) To reach a conclusion here: It doesn't really matter what OS you pick when you're an advanced user, only the purpose matters. Though it is always best to start with Windows since it is the most widespread and supported by most software & games. Then when the user finds out where the interests lie, he can pick an OS based on that. That post got longer than I had intended, heh. |

Alright, I know what the problem is now! Its MSN Live Plus! I've deleted it from the control panel>add/remove programs. And I deleted the directory too, but I still get the crash, is there somehow I can delete MSN Plus Live! 100%? |

I hate MSN, too commercial stuff around it. Xfire is great for chatting while gaming, you can chat ingame with people doing other games or stuff

Chatting while gaming is retarded, unless we are talking about online multiplayer, and even then most games have a chat feature built in. |
