i think your list needs a lot more detail, that doesnt say much about the game at all.

Sounds like another mediocre game with pretty graphics. Just what we need.

I hear its like Far Cry a lot, and that was a good game. Crysis should be fun, i dont know how good it is though.

Actually, this game is looking promising in terms of gameplay to me. Not as linear as the games we've seen lately from what I have read.

Well, it is the sequel to Far Cry after all...isnt it?

Im pretty sure theres more to it than guns, cars and things to shoot them with.

It's probably just not SX's prefured genre.

Incorrect.
There is a sequel to Far Cry being made though.
Crysis is a different story/game.

I played the demo the other day. It's loads of fun. Graphics are absolutely wonderful.

The 8800 GT runs it at med settings with no lag. :)

Heh, even Far Cry 2 isn't really a sequel to Far Cry. Completely different characters, setting, and storyline.

Sounds like FarCry 2 will head the same direction Quake 2 did; the only similarity to the prequel is the title.

I bough this game when it came out.

Here is my statement:

If you like games with strong single player, then look into Crysis.

I won't ruin the story line to the game but supposedly they are turning it into a Three-part series, this being the first installment of course. The gameplay is great, and the graphics and physics are truly amazing (if your machine can handle it), however I can't speak for everyone's interests, so really it would be up to you. While the story takes you from point A to point B then to point C, etc, how you get there is completely up to you; there are usually at least 2 or 3 paths to get to any location, and that is in the more narrow areas.

At first I figured the story would be sorta bland and boring, however the more you play the game the more and more it draws you into wanting to find out what happens next. Once again I won't go into any detail because one thing I hate most is when someone ruins the story line to something by telling you what happens. However I will say that there are a few surprises and twists here and there. :)

This game is probably one of the most incredibly futurely-realistic games I have ever seen. I had gotten into a fight with some Koreans and got hurt, so naturally I found cover by the closest object, being a rock. I had two options, 1) Run to the left as fast as I could, or 2) Run to the right as fast as I could... Making my decision while my shield recharged, I overheard the Koreans saying something (who knows, it was in Korean). One of them started sounding like he was counting down, and then yelled. I assumed he was counting down because mere moments after he yelled, 2 grenades came down around me...1 to the left of the rock, and 1 to the right. Now you might think I was trapped and utterly screwed, but since I figured he was counting, I threw on cloak, and booked it.

Well I suppose onto the game itself and not my little experiences:

If you have been living under a rock for the past year or so you still should have heard about the basics of Crysis; the main aspect under you control being your nano suit: equipped with cloaking, as well as armor, strength, and speed enhancers. During gameplay you will be introduced to a wide variety of guns: from pistols to SMG's,;from shotguns to miniguns; from rockets to snipers (and a railgun :)). Every weapon has atleast 1 option you can customize in real time. with the more common weapons having the most. You can choose to attach items such as laser sights, scopes, grenade launchers, silencers, etc. AI is incredibly advanced but I'll let you read my previous little story to figure it out. Physics is also amazing advanced. Any and every single tree you find can be broken...multiple times, you will just need more firepower for the bigger trees. If you have post-processing cranked up, then every building (at least none-solid ones (Ie. concrete)) can be completely demolished.

Well I suppose I should cover some of the weaker parts of the game. Unfortunately multiplayer obviously wasn't the key focus of the game. There are 2 gametypes a simple deathmatch one and the power struggle, something like ONS for UT2004, but I won't go into much detail about it.

Well anywho, I gotta go now. If there is anything more about the game you wish to know just ask, I'll gladly answer.

I'd have to say Crysis takes the cake for single player this year, COD4 takes it for multiplayer, and UT3 takes it for overall replayability.

Well i like guns go bang bang, and i like cars that go boom, boom.

like UT3.

Crysis is awesome because you do that while grabbing chickens and throwing into your enemies face

Haha I did that to one of the Koreans....then died. KIA *Bullet to face*. But good game in general. Played it on med with my pc and it didn't kill itself but didn't play it perfectly.

Singleplayer:
Pros: Amazing immersion, amazing graphics even on lower settings, freeform levels like Far Cry, Korean Soldiers mostly as smart or smarter than Far Cry mercenaries or FEAR replica soldiers. Aside from the occasional glitch where they get hung up on a gate. The aliens are somewhat unusual, and are better than the trigens in Far Cry, but the game becomes a much more typical FPS shooter with charge-y monsters when you get to them. Lots of little tricks, like shooting fuel tanks on vehicles or shooting out tires. Physics details, even without a physics card, are amazing. Most things being tossable or breakable, including treesm to the leaves bending as you move or shoot through them. Throwing guys through walls on strength mode never gets old.

Cons: Some bits of the singleplayer seem to be a tad too much like demonstrations of what the engine can do for licensing it out. The sequences were decent, but seemed a bit forced to me. You got your vehicle bits, and your weird environment bits. Too short, sorta ends in a Halo-ish cliff hanger.

Multiplayer:
Pros: Same immersion level. The vehicles handle great here, as opposed to feeling a tad like a demonstration in the singleplayer. Lots of interesting gadgets and tricks in power struggle, ability to set loadouts a la Starsiege Tribes at the purchase screen. heavy physics on the breakable things like trees is mostly turned off for multiplay, which is understandable. vulnerable points on light vehicles still work as targets. use of nano suit powers, radar, vehicles, and cover reduces effectiveness of sniping despite the huge levels - so campers are only irritating as opposed to a game breaker. people that spawn camp with vehicles are actually harder to deal with, but you access the loadout screen in the bunker, and cheap options that kill vehicles are available at the start (c4). instant action DM mode can be very intense. some very promising mods starting out for the long term, including one for mechwarrior. weapons, which feel decent in SP, feel even better and meatier in MP, tho I rarely hit the broadside of a barn with the minigun's recoil, even in strength mode.

cons: only the two game modes. lack of team deathmatch doesn't make sense, given that would have been easy to add on deathmatch maps. currently no map autodownload feature, although it will probably be patched in later. most servers tend to run with friendly fire off (good) and punkbuster off (meh). Punkbuster off is meh because punkbuster has been hacked in the past, and reduces overall server performance, but at the same time, there is some irritating hacks starting to appear on the servers where punkbuster is off. in engine microphone system is hard to hear clearly. there are plenty of free pickup trucks and unarmed jeeps provided in most maps to get around, but there are some dead zones where if you end up on foot, you have a long way to walk. one really irritating sound loop bug waiting to be fixed in a patch. happens if you spawn in from spectating a person as they were firing their weapon.

bottem line: its fun enough that its my primary FPS game online right now, and it looks amazing. worth getting if your system can handle it and you have high speed internet. like farcry, its visuals scales well, even on low settings. reloading from a save tends to be quick after the level has been loaded once. crytek's willingness to do a minor patch almost immediately after release gives reason to hope for continued support into the future, and the mods may be very impressive in the long term.
