Finally getting around to that upgrade/build I asked about yonks ago.
Thinking I'm gonna end up building it myself using the net on this PC as a reference guide.

Just wondered if anyone had these parts and they were crap. or if theres something better out there for a similiar price.

>CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz
>Motherboard: ABIT FATAL1TY FP-IN9 SLII
>GPU: Inno3D GeForce 8600GTS
>RAM: 2x1GB Kingston DDR2
>Asus Lightscribe Dual layer DVD rewriter, Maxtor 250GB HDD, Sony FDD.
>400W Power-supply, may still get a 500W as this comes with the case and seems a bit shoddy.

Also: I can use my current Windows XP Home CD on it right? :?

You aren't gonna buy an audio card? The lack of it is gonna hurt performance significantly in newer games.

As for XP, I think it should work fine as long as you have the activation code. But don't quote me on that.

Dunno, it's a 7.1 Audio Board, I currently don't have one and everything sounds great.
Reckon I should? Will the cheap ones do?

Yeah, you can get X-Fi cards for very little these days.
