Filefront gives unlimited upload space and the download speed is pretty impressive too. You guys could use an account there to store your releases.
I have an account there and I am very happy with it, user friendly, fast and infine space.

Ok... the patch is done and we are looking for mirrors!!:) If anyone has any ideas where we can find any good places where we can submit the files to, please tell us!! It would be cool if we could just send them the URL where they can find it, and then put it on their site for downloading.. so.. help us out, the quicker we get mirrors, the quicker you get the mod;) |

I have been "put off" rapidshare in the past, but then again I'm fussy
We will try to get it up to as many mirrors as possible, although this does become a maintenance nightmare, but we will do our best to ensure you guys are able to download the mod as easily as possible. We did intialy release it on this site, but our bandwidth restrictions are unfortunately just not suffecient (we won't make that mistake again!!), as the mod has proved to be more popular than expected! So, if you use a good reliable mirror for other stuff and you have had good experiences with them, please let us know. Thanks. |

You guys have to upload the mod yourselves. The file can´t magically just go to onto the internet in one second. With dialup it will take many hours, no matter what method or server you use for uploading. But I can´t think of another way except you could send the mod on a CD to someone with high speed internet, I get 400 Kbps in average for example, hundred times faster than dialup. |

well we have uploaded the mod to a certain location, then we submitted the URL to fileshack and fileplanet.. i just want to know of any other places that do it that way.. so i dont have to spend ours and money at the net cafe, uploading to various places.. you get the idea..

You mean that fileshack/fileplanet download the file from your computer? I can´t think of another logical way of what you mean. :S I don´t know of any websites that do it this way. I only know one website that you upload the file yourself, and that can be tough on dialup. |

hmmm.. yeah, BeyondUnreal is pretty good.. but we still have to upload it to there.. hmm well.. the way we got it to fileplanet and fileshack, is to upload the files to some location, and then submit the URL to them.. they then download it from there and put it on their own servers.. dial-up is getting really old, especially when it pulls only like 3kbps!!:angry: |

What he's trying to say is... They upload it to a webserver (which they have some space on for it), then when you sumbit the request to fileplanet to host the files, they fetch it off your location... uploading is currently done via a local internet cafe, which can get costly. Don't even mention DSL in these forums... :angry: It's not accessible to small plebs like us (even if it was available in our areas). ahh well...I disgress..the mod should be available any time soon now

That method can be risky, this is basicly Fileplanet downloading from the computer. You should only do this with websites that have a positive reputation. |
