heres an update for the "yet another realism mod" for ut2004.

turns out there is a newer version of YARM out and man it rocks. it comes with a miniature TC for fun. i just beat one of the SP missions in the TC and man its a good time. its a mix of "Golden Eye" (the best FPS ever made for N64), "ghost recon", and some other tactical shooters. while the TC's damage levels are set for the guns you can screw around with a LOT more guns in the mutators. i havnt played the updated mutators yet but i'll tell ya its all good. lots of modern guns and all sorts of things to shoot check it out.

the TC isnt something to big to worry about its just 3 test maps that include, Hossies to rescue, bad dudes to shoot, re-spawning (sadly, but remember this is the first vr. of the TC), player classes (only 3 for the TC), and other cool features such as climbing over gates and bunny hopping .

i highly recommend this mod, if you wish to talk to the creator i will PM his email to you.

to install:

you will see the mutator files and the YARMgame (the TC folder). put the files from the mutator folders into the corresponding ut2004 folders.

(mac directions below for installing the TC)

for the TC, copy and paste it into your ut2004 directory (where all the main file folders are). now download spyros launcher factory from here: http://macinfront.macologist.org/mir...s.php?file=126

now copy and paste the exact name of the TC yarm folder into the slot where it says "mod name". u dont need to put ANY THING into the second line. go into the help folder of the yarm TC and put a pic into the pic spot (of the launcher creator). now press ok or what ever.

you got your self a launcher for the TC w00t.

you will have more freedom in the mutator version just so you know.

press "O" for the OBJ's (cuz u cant pass a mission if you dont know what you are doing), and bind your keys cuz YARM comes with a lot that need binding. each mission has certain things that need to be done.

just played the muts........

they are so much better than the last release, there is only one thing that bugs me. theres no stamina bar so u can keep running and bunny hopping !dodge

other than that, there is so much flexibility with this mod now (options, settings, ect).

what does Ghost Recon or rainbow 6 have to do with BW? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, so how can u compare two totally different things?????

theres more to YARM than just guns, its the physics and reality (if you mess with the damage scales) that make something fun too.

The last time i checked the mod out, it had some blurry textured guns and human terriost models and uninspired effects!

Oh and anyone who plays with Ballistic Weapons is'nt retarded! And yes i'm NOT calling you retarded!

blurry gun skins...... dont think so. the pple skins do look more detailed than the guns tho. try a higher res man :)

thanks, its just obvious that BW will have the better graphics over other ut2004 mods. it doesnt mean they will suck tho just cuz they dont have the RS team skinning guns over there lol.

i have emailed the creator many times giveing him ideas and telling him about bugs i have encounterd. YARM is a simple base as of now (as where BW is as solid as a cannon ball), and you just mighe be surprized abut what you will see later on.

i have talked to him about the TC part about the mod and plans to make it more professional later on in releases (right now its a bit buggy but has a good base for missions, rescues, hacking computers, climbing up stuff, ect.).

indeed it does have SP (THE TC, NOT THE MUTATORS)

there are 3 maps

1 rescue mission
1 sabotage like mission
1 infiltration mission

each has OBJ's that need to be done to accomplish the mission. the TC is a bit buggy (as i said before), but this is the first release of the TC so you will have to hang on for more guns (in the SP, the mut has lots of guns), vision goggles available in SP (you can use the goggles in the mutator), bug fixes, better coding, more maps, damage scaling, and a hella lot of cool stuff.

I like other mods like HaloUT and Dual wielding!!

I might give the mod a whril if the models adn textures have at least improve and are lesss blurry!

YARM used to be my fav realism mod before I discovered BW. I still use some of the weapons, mix them up with WoRM (whoomp there it is again, Mr. Uglypants! Heh, heh... :D ). But yeah, YARM is basically a poor man's BW.

I'd like to point out that I think many people really don't like a lot of oversized pictures to make the thread page as long as the former World Trade Centers.
