My third "Create an X" or "Custom X" topic so far. Hopefully, this one will fare better than the other two..... Anyways, the name states it all! Create your own species in the Archon Universe. Sentient or not, and level of technology doesn't matter, you have total creative freedom here. Mine will be posted later today. Edit: Alright, here's mine The Tyrannus The Tyrannus are a space-faring species, leaders of a galactic empire. They are a proud, warlike species, and won’t back down from a fight. Hyperions: A clan that is based off the powers of nature (Fire, Water, Etc.) Members: SX (Me)- Lightning Inferno-Fire Arctic-Ice Hazard-Earth Hawk-Flight Surf-Water Helix-Wind Dark-Darkness Nova-Light Spectre-Ghost Titan-Steel Blitz-Dragon Toxic-Poison Rose- Grass Widow- Bug Paradox-Time Twlight-Space Calypse-Emotion Kinesis-Psychic Planet- Earth VI Story- During 2121, Jack Kelly Ford was working on his Motorcycle with his parents when Liandri Scout Division attacked the Ford Residence, capturing the family, Jack tried to fight them off, but failed due to their speed and intelligence. After 45 hours of modifications to Jack's body, the Liandri Omega Solider was almost complete, they just needed to activate the Neuronic Activaton Sequence, but Jack awoken, And Fried them with his newfounded power, Black Lightning (Jack was born a mutant, his father had Spectre Powers, his mother had electric powers, therefore, when the genes mixed, black lightning and immortality is what he was born with, they were delayed) Before he left the Liandri Base on Nexros, he saw his parents mutilated and black blood (Nanoblack) was spewed into them, killing them due to replaced blood which the organisms could not handle it. Jack cried (Not like a baby, Like when something Bad happens) then he left with a found hatred for Xan Kreigor, Replacing his name With SX, he left the world and made a cult for enviromental and Other powers, therefore, Hyperion is created. Powers- SX has Black Lightning, Immortality, and Power Absorption. Weapons- Modifed D49 Revolver called "Demon Hunter", A Katana called "Talon". Strengths- Cannot Be Hurt Or killed, Incredibly Strong. Weaknesses- Cannot Handle Tasers or Artificial elecrticity. Relations With: Skrith- The Cult cannot stand them, so even if they are innocent, they'll be shot UTC- They provide weapons for Hyperion, Hyperion Helps them protect against any threat Hand- Hyperion Doesn't know much about the hand. Tyrannax and Tyrannus- Good friends And Allys, Hyperion helps with construction. |

So they're a cult? Hmm. But what, exactly, would the element "Dragon" be? Would it simply refer to the supposed knowledge and wisdm of the ancient creatures? Or is he some strange reptillian hybrid? Or both? |

Yep, But he's not a reptilian hybrid, he studied the ancient art of dragon, both fighting style, and the reptilian ways. therefore, he uses flame based attacks, and fire breath. I like yours too. |

Hmm. Wonder why noone else is getting into this topic... Also, edit the post. You mispelled the name. There's two of them, actually. The Tyrannus are the smart ones: Tyrannax are the bigger, hive-minded semi-sentient genetic cousins. |

Wait, Tyrannus? Tyrannax? Aren't those names directly from WH40k? And aren't those physical description much like the Tyrannids of WH40k? I think they might be some sort of copyright infringement if they were to make them an official race in Archon.

Hmm... I don't think so. I thought them up on the spot.... The name is a little like Tyranid, but no, I don't think theirs anything with these exact names. I'll research it. Edit: Nope, nothing with those names. The closest thing is the Tyranids. However, I loosely based the Tyrannus around the Ravener, then gave it many new traits. |

Ah, well, I'm still a bit new to the Wh40k universe, they sounded really similar, though in my edit I see I got their name right without even realizing it.
I'm certain I seen Tyrannex somewhere before. I think I remember where I seen Tyrannex, i think there might be a M:tG card with a very similar name. |

How about I join in Name:Nali Mutanas. physical form:Mutated Nali. Physical traits:a fifth arm out of either the left or right top shoulder or the back,the position of this arm has a significant cultural role, a individual whose arm extends from the right is raised as a warrior or worker depending on his/her choice at the age of 14(assuming they live as long as a human),if from the left he/she is considered a tech specialist and will fill that role(most individuals have a right arm so the number of techs are somewhat low),these may also grow to become leaders if the society feels him/her wise enough.If the arm comes from the back they are seen as a potential threat and are cut from society and must live on their own,if they are too unruly at birth they are killed on the spot.The chances of a individual having a arm out of the back is exceptionally rare and those exiled live very harsh lives and usually die early.those that survive past 21 are perhaps the strongest individuals of this race. Technology: Somewhat primitive in respect to many other races,but enough to launch them into space and make them formidable in combat.Usually they salvage whatever they can find to use against their enemys and develop their technology so they may be more formidable in the galactic stage.Some warriors have their mental capacity and strength amplified so they may carry and fire two heavy weapons at once,those that can are known as the Subjects of the Fist. -Grenades.The Nali Mutanas are very skilled in the use of thrown explosives,they have mastered the art of trajectory and are capable of making some of the most skilled throws in the galaxy,rivaled only by the Pi-Darus.Their multiple armes means they can launch ordinance at amazing rates,meaning spam,spam,spam. -Melee.The Nali Mutanas use somewhat primitive clubbed weapons,or larger heavy hammers.They rarely use anything with a blade,feeling any such implement too 'Skrith' for them to use.They make up for this decision with their arms,being smashed by 5 clubs at once,some with extra technology thrown in can make you wonder if your little X3 you take everywhere was a good decision. Habits:Terraforming uninhabitable planets and conquering worlds lightly populated by Skrith and their past foes the Skarrj in the constant Fight to restart their ancestor's civilization.Fighting any outsiders that step on their planets,this is because of their ancestors peaceful attitude almost destroying the nali civilization.The exiles hide themselves in human society,stealing weapons and causing general trouble when gangs form,they don't give a hoot for the Fight. Relations: -Skarrj and Skrith are the primary enemys and will be attacked whenever possible(and safe enough). -Human civilization,neutral/wary but will kill any who steps on their ground. -tyrannus/tyrannax,Cold as the cultural assimilation ideology is much more pronounced than the humans. -Hyperions,Cautious but willing to stay much on their good side as some members are immortal. -Pi-Darus,very warm,this race distanced from the Skrith helped shelter some sects of the Nali Mutanas before they where strong enough to retaliate against the Skrith.They also where the ones who trained the Mutants in the art of throwing and the hunt.To keep them safe they are now a well kept secret. Interesting, Shadowdump. Xav, if they had the EXACT name of the 'Nids, then yes, it'd be copyright infringment. No idea if those names are anywhere else, though. As for physical charecteristics, unless they are a complete copy physically, then there is no chance of infringement. And I'm glad you're getting into Warhammer 40K. It's a great series with excellent backstory. Also, I don't believe Games Workshop has ever pulled a Fox-esque manueaver, so if they were implemented, I think the mod would get away with simple similarities. |

Bit off topic, but yeah, I love the WH40k universe. I wanted to make a diorama with, I think, a dreadnought (is that the name for those smallish mechs that the space marines have?) only I found out a single model cost $40. I couldn't afford to mangle and reconfigure a $40 piece of plastic.
I have read the Eisenhorn trilogy though. That is an awesome set of books, very long read though.
Just wish the minis weren't so dang expensive. Anyways, yeah, I like WH 40k, just wish I could afford it.

I've been keeping tabs on that thing,looks a bit silly at times,but overall it looks very promising. ------------------------- And now for another race to bulk this topic up a bit. Name:Hazghnivys (Ha-zan-vies) Overview:A race a sentient energy creatures,these assassins will aid any race for a price,this price varies depending on the clients relations with the Hazghnivys and the creatures personality. Physical form:A(usually)slightly larger than gorilla sized accumilation of sentient energy,capable morphing into just about any shape. Physical traits:These energy creatures are capable of re-distributing every particle to any point of the mass,provided all are connected,otherwise the particles disconnected are lost in the air until reclaimed.They also can 'disperse' most of their energy into the air leaving but a very small orb of energy only less than a inch in diameter,this is effectively the creature itself,if destroyed the creature is dead.They can change the movements of the particles in many ways,allowing them to reach very high speeds,pass through objects,melt just about anything,turn invisible to certain types of vision,even become invincible to certain forms of harm,unfortunately(fortunately?) they can only manipulate themselves in this way for just one of the above. Weaknesses:With concentrated fire from multiple damage types(kinetic,plasma,electrical,etc.) they can easily be brought down. They can be a little impatient at times. They like dangerous things,for some reason they just generally like people that can kill them. Favorite Tactics: -Setting their particles to noclip with the ground,poping up from behind and strangling/incinerating the target. -Nocliping into a fresh suit of armor,grabbing a gun,flowing part of their particles to encase the armor,and adapting to attacks as they come,making themselves a form of shield. -Wrapping themselves around a person,changing their particles to emit a low end form of radiation to pacify the encased victim,and controling their movements like some sort of puppet,though very much still alive.To avoid damage in this settup they morph holes where projectiles are about to hit keeping themselves alive,and the enwraped victim dieing by his own allies. Habits: -They will mark their allegiance by cash first,so if your being hunted down by one,pay him more than the client. -They are everywhere,sometimes hidden,other times waiting for a customer.They have no real home planet,they closest thing to come to that is a few planetoids in the galaxy. -fighting amongst themselves is rare,but if it does happen,it is usually far away from populated places,and many individuals are involved.They take great care in not killing anyone who isn't marked for death. Relations: -Tyrannus:Great,they employ them all the time in their assassination campaigns when their isn't enough of their own warriors to send out,and they love using their guns.Yet they'll still take a contract to kill the highest branches of the Tyrannus for enough credits(we're talking mongo credits here). -Skrith:Neutral,sometimes they are employed and even though they are the 'Bad Guys' of the galaxy,they could care less. -Hyperions:warm,It is unknown why,but every time a Hazghnivys gets close to one of these,they go berserk,mabye it has to with their powers.A few of the hyperions are attemptively marked for death but the Hazghnivys won't take any contracts on them.This unusual problem keeps the Hyperions and Hazghnivys from doing business alot of the time,but through com channels they are able to communicate. -Humanity:neutral,not much to say,they make contracts Hazghnivys go kill,end of story.Just the usual with the humans. -Nali Mutanas:cold,they rarely work for them due to their strict 'get off my lawn' policy.But if they dish out enough credits... -Hand:bleh?Even though the Hazghnivys don't know who they are,they have a gut feeling they worked for them,considering some of the contracts they have taken from some anonymous people -Curse:Neutral,looking upon the Hazghnivys' contract database,there have been very few in curse name,whether client or target.Typical. -Resistance:Neutral,typical humie,we take visa,crap. |

*Chuckles* I can see why they would want a LOT of credits to take down a Tyrannus, especially considering, theoretically, that their weapons could do a lot of damage, and their' own natural skills aren't too shabby either. (The reason I state that about the Tyrannus weapons is because they do both thermal and kinetic damage, kinetic from the actuall bullet, and thermal energy from the nasty plasma charge inside )
Edit: By the way, not sure if you know, but the Resistance are anti-UTC humans, not Tyrannus rebels. Just not sure about it, becuase you stated the bit about assasinating Tyrannus officailas at REALLY high prices in the Resistance faction standings. |
