The mouse ain't new, the PC is. But now whenever I use my old mouse on this comp I have troubles, the main one being if I pick it up slightly, It zooms to the top right side... It never used to happen, whats changed?
*sobs* Oh yeah, It's a little bit better on a mouse-mat, but then when it's still it moves slowly... |

mouse (mice??) do break. They are mechincal devices (yes, even the optical ones). They switches, and that scroll wheel is also very mechincal. Cables also break... But your issue, sounds like it could be driver releated... |

Heh, I went through 3 Optical Mouses for my basement computer, First time it wore out, second time it got busted, now i'm using my last optical mouse and it works so far. I agree with Cyberax, could just be Drivers, or it could just be wore out. |

My current optical mouse has lasted 4 years without any problems, except the fact that the rechargable batteries aren't storing too much power anymore. (yes, I'm going to buy new ones soon )

Take it apart and see if anythings wrong. Thats what I do under disapproval from my parents since they have to use it too

Maybe there is a kink in the cable. But yeah they do die pretty easy. More expensive mice are made of better plastics and rubbers. A logitech MX518 is one of the most durrable mice I've ever come across. |
