On the other hand, there's never been any WWII shooters showing the war from the Axis perspective. That might be interesting. |

Indeed it would be. Infinity Ward all the way, i can't believe you'd even want to consider Treynarch, they ruined CoD3, i hate them. I still would rather see it in WWII, but thats just me, cause i love that time period. |

Not sure which company, but I'd prefer the current style. Niether. Would prefer WWI. Huge artillery, primitive tanks/APCs and strategic trench warfare. |

Niether. Would prefer WWI. Huge artillery, primitive tanks/APCs and strategic trench warfare. Seriously? I thought WWI was about the least intelligently-fought war in recent history, as far as ground warfare goes. There's really nothing strategic about stalemated trench warfare, where hundreds died for every yard of gain. I really don't see trench warfare making for very interesting gameplay, unless you enjoy a very low kill:death ratio. Don't you ever wonder why we haven't seen many WWI shooters? I'd love to see a new WWI flight sim, though. |

Strategic for the troops? No, it was fought on a massive scale, commanders directing companies here and their, e.t.c, but the troops simply sat in trenches and shot barrages, back and forth, making massive charges. Sure, there weren't many strategies, but running across the field, desperately firing while frantically looking for cover, or raning death with a huge mortar, or mowing down enemies from an entrenched machinegun. And yeah, I've wondered why there are none. None I've seen, that is. |

A single-player shooter might be possible with a little work, as long as you avoid the long, costed, stalemated trench fighting, but multiplayer would be pretty much impossible to do. Who would ever want to just sit in a trench and die in a massed infantry charge, over and over again? Everyone would want to be the machine-gunner, sniper, or artilleryman. An RTS would probably work, though. |

Hmm, a FPs might work if it was set on the eastern front or in Palestine, they were much more mobile than the western front. Still multiplayer would be boring. |
