i am so close to a new computer! i have been rethinking this whole mac-pc thing and i am gonna go with the mac path (i think, dunno for sure). http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/W ... &nclm=iMac i am most likely gonna go with the bigger screen and upgrade the memory and buy the stuff for wireless internet, ect. |

It is a sad fact that Macs aren't made for gaming, you need to decide what you do more, because even the most powerful Mac in the world doesn't stand a chance against a mid-spec PC. |

Unfortunately, no Mac is cheap. They are like Intel in the way of price, waaaaay too expensive compared to quality. |

a well it was just a thought, cause i'm guessing James loves his Mac (for some unknown reason) but also wants to play PC games (which Macs can't do)! If James you have enough money buy a Mac laptop and a PC but buy the PC first!! Or just buy the PC and download some software so you can run Mac OS on Windows (my friend does it somehow)! |

ugh..... i dont love my mac, it kinda fricken sucks. i am just more familiar with macs and would only get a little disadvantage in gaming. more games are ported to mac now that there are intell macs yes you can run mac osx on windows but i am not going to bother with that if i get a windows (waste of money) |

It is easy to get a pirated version of Windows, plus you can get free Mac GUI themes for Windows XP, made by the community of MS and Apple.
It is not a question which is better, a Mac that have lame support for DirectX and OpenGL APIs, and an Intel to contribute to the long con list. Or a PC with a Windows XP using a Mac GUI theme and has full compability with every graphics API out there. And even better support with the upcoming Vista. It is your choice, but I'd get used to the Windows if you want gaming to be a future hobby. :S |

Not me either, but for some strange reason you are even considering buying a Mac, and even a crazier thing that you expect it to run UT2007. For god sake, Doom 3 runs horrible on the most powerful Macs today, and that game is low spec. |

With that kind of money I think you can buy hardware like AMD64 X2 4400+, Asus A8N-E motherboard and a Geforce 7950 GX2. And that system would easily win mine, but only because of the video card, mine is a Geforce 7900 GTX.
