I got a new pistol. A hungarian military police issue FEG PA-36. A derivative of the walther ppk 9x18mm caliber.[br][br] |

Hey the grip is a bad design, that thumb recess on the side is WAY to big, makes shooting it uncomfortable. |

Look it up, this gun is notorious for it. I might have to get a glove to shoot it more. |

It Sounds nice, from what i've read, it sounds like you have to replace the springs. |

Yeah i shot 25 rounds with no glove, its how they are supposed to be used but the grip design is bad, still not too bad once you get used to it. Well one of the reasons for that is the guns werent used very much, so the recoil springs are rather stiff, and sometimes that can cause jams because the slide wont go far back enough to eject the shell so it gets lodged in there on the return cycle of the slide. Basicaly it wears down to patience, if you have enough time to work the pistol and break it in, it runs like a champ, but if you want a gun to shoot right out of the box then you buy the spring. Also people like to replace the trigger springs as well to make it lighter and smoother, i like it how it is personaly. I got lucky and mine was broke in enough to where it didnt even show a sign of stopping. Some are broke it, some are not, many are not. |

Took it out again today, two mags full of 9x18, didt hurt the hand as much but it shot a little high. I think its shooting high because of me, but it may be the ammo as well. |

That there if done right would probably only cost ya about 125-150 dollars. Just check your local laws before purchasing a Handgun. Ammo is 9x18 and is fairly cheap at the moment, wolf ammo is about 10 dollars for a box of 50 rounds, so not bad. But i got a feeling these are not going to be around much longer as they are good pistols for a cheap price. Also a good deal is the mosin nagant family of rifles such as the m91/30, m44, m38 etc. These are about 120 dollars for a very durable well made russian rifle. They arent worth much right now but will be in the near future. Springifled 1903s, k98s, type 99s all cost 500+ because there are so few original left because people sporterized them, sportered ones are worthless, but rifles in original stock condition are quite valuable, sadly the same thing that happened to the 1903s, k98s, and type 99s is happening to the mosin nagants, but there are more people like myself who see these old war horses for what they are, pieces of human and military history and thus are preserving them. For more information on mosin nagants, preservation and other rifles and pistols either talk to me or go to www.russian-mosin-nagant.com and check out the forum. |
