Satore monster pack, kangus, etc.; just the same old classics.

well, I'm having a problem with invasion now.
i downloaded HL2 monsters, to kill some zombies, but it was bugging the game. I don't know if it was BW imcompatibility, because the client(on LAN) don't spawn with weapons, can't see the zombies(even in the radar) and it was lagging the game much.

and even in assault it was lagged. I just then deleted the files and no lag. how a invasion monster can lag a assault map? %-6
I'm putting it here because we are talking about invasion.

Make sure you set up proper server packages for the host (check BW install thread).

For the monster critters, find what the name of any .u files are for it and those are the server package lines you need to add for the monster critters.

EDIT:
Damn it, I mean server packages, not edit packages... I could've sworn thats what I typed originally...

the main source of invasion material is the huge thread under the mod requests section of the Epic Forums for Ut2k4 entitled 'satore addon monsters ideas pls' http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=474481

I lament the fact that over the 101 pages or so of this thread, the monsters, mutator config files, and other resources have never been collected in one single post.

The larger part of the invasion material is monsters by iniquitous666 here: http://ini.hazelwhorley.com/monsters.html

The rest, including the few invasion gametypes or TCs, you will have to search the epic forums at large, or http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.com/

In my opinion, the best invasion TC is Killing Floor. Marwars, U4E, Fraghouse Invasion, Blue Moon Rising, all have invasion elements. U4E had a cool gaunlet style gate spawner mode.

my personal quest is for an invasion mutator or gametype that lets you load a CTF, ONS, DOM, BR etc map where it spawns monsters from one base and they assault you in the other base. Last time I saw this working properly was in a ut2k3 mod that does not work for ut2k4. 2k4 mutators like vehicle invasion will let you use the other map types, but they don't spawn at the enemy base and assault. let me know if you see a 2k4 version that works that way.

You will want to use satore monster cfg, monster manager, kang's horde control, or sudinvasion to configure 3rd party monsters. my favorites are the alien xenomorphs, the stormtroopers, and the marsattacks martians combined with the U4E phaser guns. there was a recent release of a new invasion mute call invasion x, but I have not tried it as it does not claim to do the base assault thing I described.

i'm guessing maybe but you cant be too sure
i mean i didnt had problems lagging exept for the new mods of the BW and others (jailbreak Ect) which were slow runnig in the beggining but they are working fine now
i dont think that a invasion monster can lagg a assault map but only slow a little the invasion modes thats all

That is because mods like BW add plenty of new elements and graphics to the gameplay. Same goes for HL2 invasion which are surprisingly high quality for a 3rd party mod.

To me it seems like your computer simply can't handle this extra stress. Either upgrading the computer or lowering in-game settings will do the trick.

HEy the faceless i checked the sites and i personally think that the iniquitous666 is One of the best and would recomend it althought i got some problems with the doom monster Pack v2 v3 and v1 b/c of the vagary monsters and out of approximatly 50-100 monsterz only like 37 appear but thats still fine with me

maybe you will be surprised by the fact that my Nvidia 6100(or 6200) can run most maps, weapons, etc in high settings. no shadows, obviously. !lol

but in the lag problem, I mean Lag in internet. I don't know how, but sometimes you walk and stops, and then you're at another side of the map. not video/memory lag.

What type of network you got set up? Slow connection speeds cause this.

And Bloodchain, for an invasion type that spawns monster critters at one base and you at another, get the mutator SUDvasion, and then find the gametype Vehicle Invasion. vehicle invasion lets you use any and all maps for invsion, while SUDvasion spawns the monster critters at blue base and you at red base, assuming bases are available in the map.

Not surprising if you have a decent processor & memory. UT2004 is after all mostly CPU dependent.

sure do captain Xavious but rather go with normal invasion. ohhh and sometimes i would getthe same thing as Glosmostinex exept when i'm holding a weapon the weapon disapears i cant move and out of nowhere i respawn and i could see myself and actually kill my host body, frosen there
kind of a strange problem but it fixed itself :@ and i still cant figure it out ( happened even before i got the BW set but my computer meets and exceeds all requerments)

That sounds like packet loss to me, which basically means you and the other(s) are not synchronized.

I synchronized the two computers(LAN game), but it was bugged... I will download it again and test further.
