Ah yet again,Google fails me,that is when I turn to you guys, right .
Anyways my WinAMP has decided not to run WAVs and I've got a few WAVs here that worked before.(must be the new version maybe). Peculiar thing is,I try and run a WAV the thing just freezes up and sits there,no errors, not even the windows task manager reporting the thing as not responding.Even more peculiar is the fact that WinAMP can't even depict the track's running time. The tracks work on Windows Media Player so it isn't file corruption on the track's part. So anyone got a clue? |

What encoding are the WAVs? It is best to use something native like PCM signed or MPEG layer 3. My only answer would be reinstalling WinAmp, if WMP can play them then it's not a system related problem. |

odd.. You can hear all other formats i take it? Chances are, that what you're trying to play, might be a strange .wav format.. but if MP can play them then.. hmm.. you have the output setting correct in Winamp set properly? Not on .file recording or something funny? |

The thing is I USED to be able to play them. However it seems the thing(most likely due to a update)just won't play them. Also it turns out that it will play WAVs just not these WAVs.So yeah the format must be off or something. I haven't changed any setting on this thing, default right from install. The WAVs are Freelancer music(game),I just like listening to game music. |

You should get yourself a professional audio program, like GoldWave. It may not be freeware, but the free trial allows you to see details about a file, such as encoding. And you can convert the file to another format that is more supported (and better. Lets face it, wave is a terrible choice of format to be used for game music or audio in general). |
