I wish EA didn't buy them out... however, I hope they bought them out for a good reason. If they bought them out just because they could, then I smell another monopoly in the air............ I feel sorry for Bioware and Pandemic Studios being bought out by EA.... *sigh* |

The new EA president claims he's trying to buy good studios like Rockstar from the Take2 hostile takeover attempt, and that he won't tear them up. EA has a history of destroying good development companies though. Any of you remember Origin Systems or Bullfrog? |

I'm not familiar with Origin or Bullfrog either. The only "Origin" I know of is a name of a project in the FEAR storyline. |

Origin was the company of the Ultima Series which was created by Richard Garriot. Bullfrog had some games, but ended up with EA UK. |

Ever since EA got a new CEO, I've started to see improvements in their principles. It is starting to be more than just the money that matters. That kind of thinking brought to the world games like the System Shocks, Deus Ex, STALKER, etc. Fantastic games, in other words. |

Games that are meant to be more than just money hunters often cost more to make, plus the more gameplay & story rich games don't have as big of a fanbase because the casual gamer doesn't have the brain power to understand them. If you have ever read about a Bioshock fanatic's experience with games like System Shock 2 or Deus Ex, you will know what I mean. |

The writers, programmers, modellers, etc. all work together and keep the work synchronized. So yes, they do have what it takes to understand what is being made. |

I still find Bioshock insanely fun and a great story... hell even halo is great cause they've grounded it with great storytelling (many probably do not like this view) |

I found Bioshock exceptionally dull in terms of gameplay, I had to struggle to finish it. Great at first, I'll admit that, but the ridiculously exaggerated enemy respawning brutally killed the atmosphere. So what remained was just the gameplay, which can't stand on it's own feet imo. |
