I have to use it to play Rise of Nations...and I have a form of it for like Battlefield 2142..I think its called Comrade seems oddly similar.

I have no idea personally, since I don't play online. But there must be a good reason for it, considering the amount of people against it.

But what moron got the brilliant idea of forcing a gamespy account on the UT3 demo players? It was an easy task for me since I already had a free account registered in the gamespy network (for fileplanet tho).
