for one shut off internet, then work away the virusses. Attempt getting an antivirus program before hitting downloads on the internet. Trojan horses are 'gap makers'. They make it easier for other virusses to come in. They are easily caught. They're like a disease, and whoever makes virusses are really a bunch of twats. |

Nice going, get Ad-Aware 2007, as well as Spybot 1.4 (or 1.5 if its out). Also, Mircrosofts anti-virus program is excellent. |

I will repeat my question, hopefully to get an answer this time: What downloads? Since you say 'the downloads' it sounds like you are hinting at the BW ones. |

Copyrighted music is music that you are expected to pay for. If you don't, then you are stealing. |

Well, obviously you are visiting questionable websites. Stop that and the viruses will stop appearing on your hard drive. |

Ad-Ware 2007 SE should be free. |

It requires registration and i don't want that. i might go with Spybot 1.4 even though i already seem to have permanet data loss |

It shouldn't. http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3 ... d=10837062 Use this one, there should be no reason that you have to register, your just downloading the wrong file. |

Spybot is a great program, but it only removes adware and spyware, not viruses. At least that was the case the last time I used it. |

Well it does have the word spy in the name so put two and two together. If you need a good real time anti virus Kaspersky is great... you could even likely torrent and crack for it at no cost. |

Nowadays I use AVG Free. I used to use Panda AntiVirus, before the trial ran out. It was the best anti-virus program I ever used. |

I'm using Multivirus Cleaner which is totaly free and quite nice. But, 1st: It does not offer a real time protection
2nd : That program is still quite young so not perfect... I also use Ad-Aware which is a great program I think. I used Sophos too as a Firewall but Sophos was TOO POWERFUL ! I was fed up of that program blocking everything even the things I needed lol

Souls Stream wrote: But, 1st: It does not offer a real time protection
2nd : That program is still quite young so not perfect... The 1st reason is enough to not bother with it. Many viruses make sure that you won't be able to do a manual virus scan until after a reformat. |

AVG i good if only you have the version where its real time, otherwise the free one isn't too great, i found that it would find the viruses all good (after an hour) but it wouldn't let you do anything to get rid of them, and so i didn't bother with it when i got my new PC. |

I'm telling you, Avast is great. Free, real time scans, first time installed it does a full scan before windows starts to remove any existing viruses, then full featured real time protection covers many areas to block future viruses. |

Avast... hmmm. When my Kaspersky 's run time runs out (later this summer) that very well could be a nice substitute. |
