Hey i recently bought HL2. I played and completed the game, with no problems at all (very good game by the way:). Then there is this one time it will not load; it doesnt come with a message or anything, I have had this problem ever since. Weirdly, if i load hl2 deathmatch and exit, and then try to run HL2, there are no problems. I have tried playing from desktop, I have tried autoplay, I have tried running it from steam, reinstalling, you name it. anyone know what could be causing this problem, and if so, how do you fix it. I have never had this problem with any other games... |

I find that logging out than relogging in fixes most problems with STEAM. This is not just a exit STeam or shut it down you have to file, change user, logout and etc. Hope this works. |

Ok i will try that. but surely if it was a problem with steam, then I would have this problem with all my steam games? |

Ok. that did not work. The game doesnt freeze at loading screen, it jsut reverts back to desktop. I launch HL2, it says preparing to launch HL2... Then the screen goes black for a couple of seconds, but then it reverts back to desktop. |

Very yes, I agree here. My only guess is that you have soemthing corrupted now in one of your files. Maybe a registry? Iunno, giving guesses here! |

Odd. I really dunno what to say. Maybe just continue doing what your doing to play HL2 and maybe 1 day it'll work on its own. |
