If you can, post any links to big map sites for it you can. I HATE the base game.... But love many of the innovate mini-mods/games that people make in maps, from RPGs, to survival horner, to arenas, all sorts of wonderful stuff. I loved it, and played these maps constantly. Sometime shortly after installing vista, however, I discovered my Warcraft III folder was completely gone. Nothing left. I know that I did not uninstall it, and even if I had, I'm almost positive my maps folders would have been left, with the custom maps still there. But alas, no. Completely annihilated, even searching all folders. All drives. No folders. It made no sense! Completely obliterated, and my map site moved and as of now forgotten. However, I have now found a new one (Hives' Workshop) and even found some of the best of my old maps! But alas, there are many more. And so, I humbly ask for your assistance. Specifically, one I searched through THREE SECTIONS, RPG, Arena, and Hero Arena, is an Arena map of forgotten name (That makes it easy....) that i can recall having both pre-set and custom heroes,, and several regions. All heroes were hostile to one another. there was a small area to buy items, heal and regain mana and to be respawned at, a training area, and multiple areas of combat, from a aqueduct-esque area, and a red wasteland, with lots of skeletons. The aqueduct had various skeletons and bugs I think. In the wastelands, a gigantic skeleton would summon on a burning pentagram, the points and corners marked with skull piles. Lovely. A giant minotaur or big elemental would spawn around the central combat areas., around the true center of the map, which had a shallow pool of water. This was also the entrance to the battleground. A huge lizard spawns in the aqueduct. Over the course of the game, players kill one another for points and experience, as well as monsters. The aforementioned bosses provide mucho treasure and experience, so player can gang up on them. If anyone knows the name of the map and/or where to download it, PLEASE TELL ME! That map was one of my favs. Already, I have downloaded some maps. But, I can't find my disks. So, if you know where to get copies cheap, used or not, that is also useful. Feel free to post up some of your favorite custom maps, too. |
