Post subject:  problem with ut2004 and the free space in my hardrive
last nigth i was doing some experiments with the skins of a mod, but i have problems and i have to reinstal ut2004. after that, i see my free space in the hardrive and have 3 gigabytes more of full espace in the hardrive. i unistall the game but this 3 gigas istil in the disk. i instal the game again an have other 3 gigabytes of full space, this wihout including the space of the game. i search in my folders and i dont find any extra files. with this now i lose 6 gigas of free space
any idea of what is hapening? !dodge

You're probably installing to different spots without knowing it.

Have you checked your documents folder? Some games store their data in there.

yes and i dont find anythin strange.
ok, i can resolve the problem, i defrag my hard drive and erase some useles files with the program "tune up utilities" and recover my 6 gigasbytes of space. thanks for the coment

Defragmentation is not going to do any good here except maybe boost speed, if the hard drive is badly fragmented.

If the previous installation is actually gone but you didn't regain usable space, a reformat might be necessary to get the HDD back to normal. Though first make sure you didn't just install it to an awkward place.
