Today marks the 7th year since that day an airplane crashed into the Twin Towers in New York, a moment of silence for the fallen.

There was a show describing all facts of who did it. First they blame Osama Bin Laden but the video that they put as evidence was completely fake. I can believe that most secure state in whole world has fail that day. |

I still think things seem a bit off on the whole incident, to be honest. Not saying it was some large US government conspiracy, but some things did seem a bit off. |

What is so off about it? Terrorists took control of airplanes and crashed them into buildings. If this was indeed a conspiracy created by the US, it would give the world as we know it a complete overhaul. |

Well, everything about the rescue procedures done was all wrong. There was a terrorist attack, though minor, that happened in the 90's on the towers that should have woke them up to the possibility of future terrorist attacks. Radios used by fire fighters earlier that proved ineffective in the towers were not replaced by better radios, so firemen could only communicate in a short area in the towers, not a good thing. Second, when the first tower was struck, people in the second tower were to remain working, saying they were completely safe. Now this wasn't an entirely bad idea, as debris were falling and could prove a hazard to those walking outside, but they should have been prepared for evacuation in the event that A. the struck tower could have fell into or damage the other tower in an unforeseen way, or B. there was a terrorist attack planned for the second tower, something that should not be assumed to not happen. There were many building features that were not safe either, though if they weren't up to code, I don't know. But overall, the whole thing was carried out poorly on several parts. Again, I'm not saying or suggesting a conspiracy, but considering the buildings were the target of a terrorist attack before, they should have been better prepared. |

Like how? Put anti-aircraft cannons on top of the world trade centers?

![]() Hmmmmm that's a good idea. But seriously, measures that were made actually sucked. Not only in this case. Its always like that in critical situations, remember submarine Kursk. Super saving operation, most of the time they just waited, dont know for what, miracle ? |

Did FEMA (Fix Everything My Ass) by any chance have anything to do with it? |

How about the city supplying the fire department better radios? Or maybe expect and prepare accordingly for something to happen to the second tower after the first was struck? |

It's good to see you're trying to think this through, but if we're going to carry on this debate, I would advise we should try to consider general things for the current future. it's easy to say "Well, now that we know that something happened, here is what should have been done differently to minimize or prevent the impact of a certain event in history." However, it is not very productive to talk about the past unless you can apply it to the present. So, taking the example of evacuating the 2nd tower after the 1st one was hit... well, if your next door neighbor is robbed and shot at night, then I guess that would be grounds to sleep with a loaded shotgun next to your bed and maybe get some security. However, I hope that the billion dollar air defense system on top of the thousands of large skyscrapers was in sarcasm. Knowing Bjossi (a lil' bit), I have little doubt about that. there's only so much you can do to prepare to prevent event Y if event X were to happen, especially with the knowledge that X may not happen for a month, year, century, eon. Edit: Wow, I ask for arguments with more substance than "I now know how I woulda done it better" and the whole thread dies. |

I am quite sure that the building could have had some sort of better support structure in it... like instead of twin towers, should have made it twin towers with a ton of latticework between the two. I think that'd have been a pretty interesting design there even! |
