Name a game and write a short version of a story.

One of the most favorite storylines i encountered was in Tribes Vengeance.
After reading through story you'll understand why this game was called Vengeance, lol.

[size=17px]Its about War betwen Imperium and Tribes.
Story starts when Phoenix tribe attacked ship with Imperial Royal family on board, Princess Victoria got captured. Phoenix leader Daniel liked Victoria and shown her that their living conditions are horrible and tribe is weak, explains that they raid ships just to get some supplies, fighting on two fronts with Empire and Blood Eagle Tribe. Later due to some cercumstances Victoria and Daniel felt in love. Then they decided that can stop war between Imperium and Tribes, they found evidence that someone on purpose was trying to make each faction hostile to each other. And when they managed to organise meeting with Emperor Tiberius everything was going well untill princess's sister Olivia seen how her father was trying to make piece with Phoenix tribe. She thought that with such ally empire will collapse, and then creates a plan to prowoke a new war. She makes so that Daniel kills an Tiberius thinking that he is responsible for massive massacre of his people. Victoria enraged for death of her father Tiberius and lie that Daniel newer loved her she seeks out and kills Daniel. Daniel's brother Jericho swears that he will avenge him.
After few years Jericho attacked Empire to kill Victoria and has succeded, miracly survived Victorias daughter Julia sees how her mother dies by the hands of Jericho. Then when Julia grownup she seeks her mother murderer. When she defeated Jericho, Olivia stops her from punishing Jericho and sends him away so that he didnt told anything to Julia. Then Olivia hires assassin Mercury to kill Jericho untill Julia founds out anything. In the last moment Julia saves Jericho from execution, he gives Julia a hint that her father is Phoenix tribal before he passes out due to heavy wounds. That makes Julia to seek answers, she heads to Phoenix home planet and founds out that her father was Phoenix tribe leader and he with her mother wanted t stop the war, but someone from Blood Eagle tribe is responsible for their death and that they captured and holding Olivia in captivity. Julia allies with Phoenix and attacks Blood Eagle base, there Julia foundsout that Olivia is in arrangement with Blood Eagles. Olivia and Blood Eagle leader Seti escapes but Julia gets assassin Mercury. (Mercury is a cyborg) from remains of his head Julia retrieves information that they planing to kill millions of people by crashing space ship with some cemicals into dont remember what and dont remember why. Julia gets on the ship, there she kills Seti, then meets Olivia. Now Julia knows everything, that death of her parents was on her hands, however in unsuccesful attemtp to stop her Olivia escapes on a escape pod, Julia managed to destroy the ship in orbit. After having a hard (easily said) landing on planet Julia getting a radio transmission that Phoenix guys intercepted Olivias escape pod then she says "can someone pick me up, i would love to get back home". The End.[/size]

Maybe reading this is not so touching, lol, but while i was playing this game, i really got attached to some characters.

I love the whole invsion of a planet concept of HL2, with the zombie laucher warfare and portals and citadals and... all that stuff

Absolutely Love System Shock 2 and Doom 3's storylines, and Clive Barker's Undying is freaking awesome too.

Yeah i also liked FEAR, but stalker storywise. There was nice atmosphere and gameplay, dont remember much of a story lol, only begining and end or am i missing something ?

I pretty much liked Devil May Cry storylines, On a FPS shooter, F.E.A.R.

EVE has a funny background story to it.

Unreal 1.
a prisoner becoming a Hero is a interesting Story.
how the Nali were is really strange too. while being peaceful, they had that arena with the titan, and some were thinking to pick the Flak cannon to save their lives.
The Skaarj are extremely barbaric, but extremely technologic too.
besides, I loved the 2nd map music(NyLeve falls).

oh, CoD4 is pretty cool. to think that you saved 40.000.000 lives or something is pretty awesome. but its end is really sad.

Nyleve's Falls music doesn't even come close to the awesomeness that is Nagomi Passage.

The best storyline of a game I know has to be the one from the Myth series, a strategy game from the late 90's, made by Bungie.

I got one.

In this game, you find yourself with a gun in a world filled with other people with guns. They all try to kill you, but get killed by you instead, as you run around shooting people, pushing buttons, and finding keys to open doors. In addition, you regularly trip over health and armor to keep alive, ammo so you can keep shooting stuff, and guns so you can kill bigger baddies faster. Your ultimate goal is to find and destroy the force that is behind all the lesser things that are trying to kill you in a lengthy and drawn-out showdown.

Wouldn't know what it would be if it isn't a strategy game

Warcraft 3 ( ) the way it played out was cool, but gameplay kinda sucked

I'd call myth a puzzler.

Thief games have a good stories.

Wait a sec.

Myst is a puzzle game
Myth is a 'real time tactics' game


And Myst has a very cool story to it. Using books to write worlds and teleport to them. Very cool =D

I think that's one of those things that made it really good, its war, people die in war.
Same goes for Tribes Vengeance almost all of the main characters died.
Only one guy going through hordes of enemies and getting only few scraches IS NOT COOL, imo.

and knowing that the public didn't knew all this heroic acts that you did is sad. it make you think that maybe it's happening in real world, there's anonymous heroes in our Planet.

Unreal 1(Best Epic game yet, simple beginning of being a prisoner and criminal(DUH!!) and then becoming a hero, only to be captured, used, and then hunted, and eventually escaping.. COOL!!)..

Half-Life (1, 2 and all episodes, very good story behind gordon's simple begining)..

Doom 3(very good evil story)..

Just like SB.. War 3.. cool story (CRAZY CRAZY Arthas..), bad gameplay however..

Starcraft was ok aswell..

There are others but i can't really think now..

That is because none of the Unreals followed the story of the original Unreal, except Return to Na Pali of course.
