Hello Runestorm!
I've have enjoyed the Ballistic Weapons mod for UT2004 so much that I decided to work on a tribute mod based of the BW's content. Its being made for the 2D sidescrolling shooter Cortex Command and my goal is to bring Deathmatch gameplay into Cortex Command and introduce BW to new people in a new perspective. I call this mod: [size=20px]Ballistic Weapons: Mercenaries![/size] ![]() What you see above is just the beginning. I'm working hard on this mod and trying to replicate the detail of weapons and gameplay of the original Ballistic Weapons mod as close as possible while creating a whole new experience in a sideview format. The mercenary part of this mod is my little creative idea. Since BW didnt really have any art or models on how the human soldiers looked like in the BW universe, I took liberty of that and created a the toughest guy in the universe complete with detailed and horribly excessive gore effects, gruffy sounds and lots of detail. ![]() The story of the mod is that after the wars against the aliens, humans explored space and the military personel became bounty hunters and mercenaries and soon they encountered the battle for the uninhabitated, gold enriched planet that Cortex Command is all about. The mercenaries form the "Allied Mercenary Union" and join the struggle for the valuable planet. The other side of this mod will be a deathmatch expansion to the game that lacks it. this looks AWESOME!
a 2D sidescroller with BW! its like a dream come true! but that merc...he's ugly! but at least he has a helment
might be a reason to buy cortex command. also, that Railgun looks Sweet! |

You..... Are.... GOD!!! Damnit I can't wait for this. A side-scrolling Archon Universe shooter made by a fan, is just so awesome that my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about. *Walks by in a horse suit to steal a beta copy. Also, Family Guy references FTW!* |

Since Cortex Command is not Unreal Tournament and the coding is limited to crafty variable changing (although there is going to be the Lua scripting language for the ingame objects soon.) ![]() I'm trying to design how would the Railgun, Flamer and the Lightning gun work ingame and what could be the best option to make them as close to the original, while keeping them balanced and having something new in them. ![]() The mac port is halfway finished. Some cool guy from rockstar games is working on it. I'm also a developer for Cortex Command now and I'm in charge along with one other dude on the content of the game. Aka weapons, characters, ships, tools ect ect. |
