It appears MS is applying censorship to the games it is sponsoring in certain countries and states. I guess these places are big fans of Apple products or Unix/Linux. Then again, you know how accurate rumors are known to be (The world will end in the year 2010 becasue it is a large round number, just like 2000) http://www.edge-online.com/news/no-gear ... or-germany http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/ ... idaho.html By the time the game comes out, you will either have to fly to Australia or smuggle it in over the black market to get GoW2. |

And here I thought Microsolf wanted to have a gaming fanbase in Japan (y'know... with all the under-the-table dealings they had with Namco-Bandai and Squeenix to get their hands on Tales of Vesperia, Tekken 6 and Final Fantasy XIII)... Then again, they weren't the smartest cookies in the jar when it comes to the gaming industry. |

Just a rumor. I mean, c'mon... Namco-Bandai and Squeenix practically said the same thing: "We wanna expand our fanbase to other platforms (in other words, earn more money)." However... Namco-Bandai: "We're going multiplatform! Tekken 6 for PS3 and X360 fans to enjoy!" Gamers: "Hey, great news! How about Tales of Vesperia for the PS3...?" Namco-Bandai: "LOL, no." Gamers: "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-" Think about it: Sony is "sharing" a heck lot more than Microsoft is (the only game they shared with Sony is Lost Planet)... What's keeping Tales of Vesperia from going multiplatform? Better yet, what's keeping Gears of War? |

One possible explenation about the lack of multi-platforming is that the goal of a business is to gain the most money while spending the least. It takes a lote of time to take a 360 game and make it work well on a PC with any arbitrary resolution, detail scaling, and different input methods, which involves tweaking the behavior and responses from the game. In addition to that, it's just another game to market, which generally doesn't sell nearly as well as its former self becasue all the hype about the game has died down and most people who wanted it have already played it on a console. Such people would rarely consider spending another $50 on a game a second time, just to play it on a computer. This is why I laugh when Mark Rein whines about how UT3 getting bad sales on the 360 after its success on the PC (or was it GoW the other way around?). A game that sell well on one platform has been bought by most people who want to play that game. Chanign the platform will only make it available to the few who didn't have said platform or were holding out for the conversion. Announcing that a game will be restricted to certain platforms and will never be adapted to other platforms is a good marketing move, since it will encourage the money supply (you) to buy the game as soon as it comes out without hoping for a platform conversion later on. |

Which is exactly what baffles the PS3 owners nowadays. They invested on the PS3 because of said "exclusives" (FFXIII, DMC4, MGS4 and Tekken 6). Then suddenly, just like that, they have to share 3 of those 4 games with their X360 neighbors. What happened? Why is Sony losing its exclusives (and, mind you, they REALLY wanted to keep those exclusives)? Why aren't they getting anything in return from X360's library (or even Wii's for that matter)? Why does the toast land butter-side down? |

If GoW2 doesn't come over steam, I always got my torrents. |

If you're talking about illegally downloading copyrighted software, talking about such plan on a public-accessable forum that can be viewed by anyone anywhere is not the safest idea. |

No illegal talk here will be tolerated.... Germany has been a long time supporter of very strict ratings for games. There are a lot of games not allowed to be sold there...glad I do not live there... |

Personally, I think Epic should get away from tacking a number at the end of a title and give actual names to sequels. For example, we could call the sequel to GoW, "Cogs of War" (CoW). |

Straight from the horse's mouth at BU: "Just in case you couldn't tell from reading the article, (or if you didn't read the main article at all!) yesterday's "story" that Gears of War 2 wouldn't be sold in Idaho and Utah was completely bogus, and the game will be sold in those states just like the other 48 states, though the news about its lack of availability in Japan and Germany is 100% legitimate. It was an excellent piece of satire that we felt deserved to be read by a few more people. If you genuinely got swindled by this... shame on you. "
Teaches me to give any credit to anything that anyone at BU says. It's not even April fools day, and after a closer look, they were kinda making stuff up |

That does not change the fact that it's X360 exclusive. and thank god for it too! I hated Gears of War. Stupid Dom, running right into the bullets making me come over to save your filthy hide and dying.
