So, I've been developing this idea I want to implement in UT3. It started as a desire to replace the scanvenger with something more practical, like some sort of hull with legs on either side that shoots out missles that go where you aim. Then, it evolved into a ball that used a grapple hook to get around. There will be a groove going around it equator, which would allow a grapple hook on a rope to shoot out and latch onto the ground or wall of some sort -- basically a modification to the scavenger legs. You would roll around in this sphere, towed along by your grapple hook, then latch onto a large target with the grapple hook, eject out, and watch the vehicle reel in and blow up real big.. I might even add armor plates on the outside that break off as it takes damage and have the vehicle break apart and the explosive pop out just prior to impact in later releases. So, what are your thoughts? Like it, hate it, think it would be way too big for someone who is good at coding, but new to UT scripting, even for a 1 year project? |

I think people should see it first.
Never the less,sounds like a good redesign.I'd say the grappling hook is unusual, but isn't the vehicle just? |

...which is exactly what I wanted to aim for. Not that I've designed much, but my design philosophy I want to implement is to avoid doing variations of a theme. The common gun involves putting your crosshairs over somebody and holding the trigger until something dies; been done a million time, so I wouldn't do it unless I had something unique to do with it. The common vehicle is something that drives around and lets you put your crosshairs over something until something blows up; again same old. I was just hoping to do something little more original. So far, the vehicle project is still in the dayreaming stage. |

Id mention this idea to Xyxz and T-Shinzon. they are always on the lookout for out of the ordinary vehicle ideas. Chances are if they like it, enough then it will be made. |
