the Windows 7 beta is coming out tomorrow for customers to test and try out tomorrow afternoon! im gonna get the beta for it! what about u guys?

I don't care I dislike the microsoft politics with their OS, but I think if we have the programs compatible with Linux / Mac without to use windows as a secondary system ore use the wine emulator I want to use an other OS instead of windows ...

Uhm, ok... You know that all companies are like Microsoft right? MS is just doing 'it' on a bigger scale %-6. Anyways, you should look into ReactOS. It might interest you.

As for me, this is awesome news, my plan to skip Vista is coming together :)

Yes I know ReactOS but it's far to be completed .... I tried id it with my bochs emulator ^^ thanks for the tip anyway.
I think like you about vista, just skip it even if I want more to skip the windows OS

I have to agree with you about the companies but like you said MS make it worse than the others, I hope I don't put a bad post by saying I dislike the MS politics :/

Windows 7 will be my next OS it seems.

Perhaps one could say that Vista is WinME 2.0.

As for Microsoft's politics, they display a typical company trying to make money from their products.
Though I do admit Microsoft have made bad decisions before to enforce software/technology onto people. And remember the disaster that was WinME?

If I were you I would put their past on the shelf and look forward to Windows 7, because the articles I've read show fantastic features. Like the ability to turn off babysitting COMPLETELY, and many of the programs that normally come with Windows (IE, WMP, etc.) will be optional, and not to mention that Win7 is kicking both XP's and Vista's ass in most benchmarks.

This isn't much to go by but is enough to get me excited.

@bjossi. good point, but, u MUST HAVE windows vista and SP1 installed on a computer to upgrade to windows 7!

32-bit XP is also valid as far as I know.
But anyone can still buy Windows 7, the upgrade is just a coupon of some sort.

Vista does have the same reputation if you ask me. It's the alpha of Windows 7, so it can be hardly called decent. I wonder what answer the Vista fanboys have on this release.

All I gotta say about Vista is that a good portion of the complaints about Vista were about the same as the the complaints about XP when it first came out.

Still, I am interested in Windows 7. Probably won't be jumping up to get it any time soon, but still, it might be decent.

Don't know if I'll get used to the fact that the beta for the next Windows version is coming around when Vista barely got a chance to settle in.

Consider windows Vista the step to Windows 7. Windows 7 uses a lot less memory and is a lot less requiring than Windows Vista. It'll be a lot more decent that Vista, it's bound to be that way because Vista is somewhat an Alpha of Windows 7.
