I got a little bit of nostalgia after playing the PS2 version of UT99 and I'm looking for a mod for UT2004 to UT99 conversion mod (Because sadly, I don't have the PC version of UT99).

By conversion, I'm pretty sure you guys know what I mean. UT99 guns with improved appearance, most, if not all, of the UT99 maps, etc. I saw Unreal Tournament 2 Conversion, but I have doubts since it is somehow mixed with Quake 3?

UT99 is the best UT99 you're ever gonna get, so yes, find a copy online or buy a download off Steam.

The UT2004 mod you are looking for is called UTR. Unreal Tournament Revolution.

There are actually quite a couple. I think there about three.

None of them were finished, also I tried to search but UTR is a total conversion, but infinished, we got unreal tournament 2 but it's seems to mix quake 3 with, and Nostalgia but unfinished too.
I tried to see that over the site beyond unreal but none of those UT conversions reached the UT 99 goal.
UTR seems to be the closest.
I got all of those mods
None of the mods improves really the UT guns, but try UTR

With a bunch of unfinished mods, it seems kind of logical to just buy the PC version of UT99, doesn't it?

Or just get one of the FREE mods if you don't wish to spend money.

UT fans that are not ready to spend a buck or two on the best game of the series are hypocrites in my eyes.

I'll try to get it (I've already shelled out quite a bit on other stuff, so I'm taking a breather for now), but I don't mind using some money to buy one of the best FPS's ever.

Tried Nostalgia mod. I like it enough.

Now for the time before I get UT99, I just need classic skins, and some of my favorite maps. I know where to find skins, but where should I look for UT99 maps? L4U?

Epic Games forums would be a good place to look as well, many UT99 maps have been remade for UT2 & UT3 (everything from remasters to a simple conversion + scaling, the latter staying very faithful to the original).

There's your problem. I don't fit that. However, I do fit the bill on being a BW fan, along with a few specific mods of UT2k4 only. After that, you'd best find me as a fan of other series, like Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo (still need to find GT1... and get a PS3 to get GT5).

Anyone know where I can get a remake of Ice Station Zeto? I can't seem to find it ANYWHERE.

Well, the default UT99 content actually doesn't suck, unlike UT2 & 3's.

Heh, some people at a local tech expo had about a dozen comps set up running a UT99 lan. On FacingWorlds. Me and two friends jumped in and went to town with the good ol' sniper rifle. I think I maintained a monster kill for something like 30 seconds. Poor nooblets.

Man, that map was poorly designed. Way to give an OP sniper rifle an even more exaggerated lead.

So a map is poorly designed as soon as the skills of the players differ? Oooookay.

Well, face it (get it? :P ), this map is really not made properly for a really fun, human on human experience. If you aren't sniping, you are running. And that stretch from base A to base B is an awfully long one without any cover in between.

Now don't get me wrong, I love that map to hell, but it isn't balanced very good. Me and a bud set up on top of the tower and sent in a bot or two to get the flag. We easily had the enemy bots dominated and our team mate bots could run from base to base without any risk from enemy fire.

This is with BW mind you, so we had to reload, and we still had them stopped dead.

On a side note, do bots "cheat" on higher difficulties in UT2004

No, I don't mean cheating by already knowing where you are, I'm talking about having extra hit points on spawning, maybe extra ammo and a damage bonus? When I play Inhuman, it feels like my opponent has 500 hit points, because I once shot a guy with a Flak Cannon 3 times in the chest, and still get killed by one shot from a Minigun (Literally one tracer)... with near 100 health. Then he limps away and gets killed by some other bot.

Hmm... I don't think they actually are statistically different, but I might be wrong.

I kill godlikes in 1 on 15 TDMs all the time with no trouble. Mind you, this is with BW, but still.

Hm... Then I might just have a very bad mouse and poor vision. You should see the ridiculousness of some bots, it's like they know Gunkata:

I still don't see how this is imbalance of the map design, both teams get a near-identical base, either team has an equal chance to do better in the match depending on skill. And that is exactly what should be the deciding point of the results; skill.

For example, if the enemy team had a sniper that kept you busy, enemies could manage to sneak into your base and steal the flag. In Face it is all about skill and strategy as far as I can tell, but you're right, some cover on the way would have been a better idea to give the losing team more of a fighting chance.

Godlike bots have a 99% accuracy to hitting your head as they will only be allowed to aim 15 seconds of a degree off the center joint of your head. Or at least that's what I understood from the description I once read online. So the best bet you have in literally at absolutely long range. At close range, you're practically dead, especially if they have a sniper.

Considering that players spawn behind the base and must make a run out in the open to even get to a sniper post, all you need to do is shoot any snipers that are placed and as long as you keep killing the enemy as they run for their base, you won't have to worry about other snipers.

Well, there is a sniper rifle behind the tower as well, so you could check for snipers high up in the enemy tower before making a run for your base's entrance.

There's also UT2C. I played around with it maybe a year ago. Looked nice to me. It's a UT04 total conversion mod that gives the look and feel of UT99 and also has some of the old maps.

Bots on higher skills DO do more damage. the Skill for AI is childishly simple. More jumping, smaller innaccuracy cone, more damage. On lower skills they are also weaker.

Then... which skill level are they actually doing the same stats as a normal human player?

Exactly what I thought about bots when we switch the AI levels even if sometimes there is other parameters, like invisible guys detection, etc ...
