Just wondering... how many of you go back and load up UT04 for a few rounds, offline or online? I still load 'er up sometimes. Really having trouble beating the tournament mode on Adept though... stupid Malcolm end fight... at least it beats fighting Xan. |

Me I don't have UT 3 but sometimes I play UT 99 for the SP mods and some cool mods like chaos UT and Unreal4ever. UT 2004 with BW, mars wars and gunreal |

I only have three decent games on my PC: 1. UT2004 2. UT99:GOTYE 3. M.U.G.E.N so yeah, I pretty much always play it Raziel P.S but there aren't that many good mods for UT2004  (at least from what I have found)

I jumped into UT2004 /w BW a while ago. It's not quite as fun as I remember. The levels are comically oversized and players move at the speed of ants compared to UT3. Edit: Lemme clarify. I didn't mean that BW was not fun, I'm just saying the general UT2004 experience was not as good as I recall; probably because the speed of UT3 spoiled me. I am definately grateful that RS chose UT3 to be the platform of choice for Crucible. |

Haha, I have a very large hard drive, but I still only have like... UT2004 Half Life 2 HL2 Episode 1 Command and Conquer 3 Combat Arms (beh, it's free is is sorta fun with the Fireteam gametype) |

Meh, I still play against bots every now and again. Its good stress relief with less chance of crashing than some other games. I have a large drive, but few decent games to put on it: UT2k4 (only played with BW or as RO) BF2 (only played with AIX and FH) Pharaoh (second game I ever owned and still good) AoM (Best RTS I ever played) |

Sometimes, even though I'm making a map for UT3. Some days ago I played UT2004. After Luminous Shadow asked on how to make a match with you alone vs bots, I decided to do that. It was quite fun! I used the team loadout mutator and so I only had silenced weapons. I played in DM-Nam so the map was quite large. though bots in UT2004 are so fast, so you don't have that feeling of realism

I still load it up every once in a while to work on the mod stuff and play a bit. Lately I've been having more fun tranquilizing people in Metal Gear Online, though.

I must say that I am not averse to breaking out the R9 every now and again for some bot-shootin' fun. I don't really play online because there are no GMT servers with any decent settings. |

Good question. Likely for the reason that instant action provides all the shooting fun we need,without the need to organize. In my defense,I couldn't make a game because my router would block any client connections,and I'm too lazy to port forward or set up any third party programs. |

I own a copy of HL2 with all the bells and whistles but I cannot run it on my current PC (and the one which I was running it on decided to die...) true, but all of my games are terrible or boring for single player (except nox, but that is too short a game...) Raziel P.S oh yeah, I also have doom 2, Final doom & Ultimate doom (brought it for £1 at a market) they are awesome, but a bit... you know... boring after a while... P.P.S but yes, I still play UT2004

You don't need a good graphics card or a large anything for most good games. At one point I had Unreal, RTNP, Unreal Tournament, Unreal 2, UT2004, UT3, Splinter Cell 3, JK II, FSX, Sim City 4, Morrowind and Oblivion all installed on a 100GB HDD with 2GB of RAM and a 256 graphics card all running at more than 15fps! Phew. |

Anyways, about the second part of OCAdam's question about online/offline play, I normally play offline against the bots. I think there are 2 main reasons why... 1: There are too many jerks online. This is, no doubt, a biased opinion (as if there is any other kind?) since I did not give online play much of a chance and may have just come accross a few bad eggs. Although, I did recently play a quick UT3 match online and the people there were pretty cool, so maybe I'll do some more online play next time I feel the yearning to virtually kill a real person. 2: This is my main reason. When I'm playing around with UT2004, there is a good chance that I'm experimenting with new mods, models, and maps, which I prefer to do offline. |

Same here, the few times I still fire up UT2 I always go with Instant Action. But I got my own set of reasons, the main one being that my disability makes winning a fight against human opponents a hopeless task. Plus the bot matches are great for non-competitive matches if you're just looking for a quick fight to have some time killing fun.

But the whole problem with single BW is that the bots are so poor with most weapons. The only weapons they are able to use are some of the pistols and sub machineguns. And with those weapons they are too good. They hit you so often and from such distance it's not fun. Wherever you are you get that red laser in your head or hear the sound of the shiny shooter then 0.5 sec later your head is shot. With all other weapons they are very little threat. Standard UT2004 online is ok except for all dodging. I hate dodging. And it seems like the skill in dodging is 50% of what matters in player's skills. (-,-) A strange thing is that the leading player always has the bald super armor guy as model. :S I suspect it gives super powers to the player. |

I have dodging disabled, I don't like it either. As for the super-armor guy, I think it is related to the feeling of being superior. If you're playing as a guy wearing a powerful armor you feel like you can take more of a beating. Well, at least I do. . . |

I Quit Ut2004 When UT 3 Came out, I have 100+ players in my community that moved to UT3 with me..I still have the 04 BW Servers Up but I don't have the game even installed. |

Sounds like the ABadAss server. It has a steady playerbase but always comes with a crapload of bots. |

I still play UT2K4, as a matter of fact I've just downed Sgt. Kelly's pack and it's cool. I do arena rounds with the golden gun without the reloading option, makes you feel like Clint Eastwood XD. |
