So you get a black screen that prevents you from installing drivers for the new card after you put it in?

As a side note, even if you got the card to work it would under-perform due to the slow processor.

If you think that card is good just because it has 512 MBs of vRAM, you are very mistaken. But since you're obviously not planning to play modern PC games any time soon, I guess it is better than nothing.

That is no excuse. If the mobo is old and the only component standing between you and a fast PC, then ditch it and buy a new one, mobos are not expensive at all unless you go for something designed for hardware enthusiasts.

As a side note beating a dead horse gets you nowhere, let alone spending money on ancient hardware just so you can keep beating it some more. My advice is to save up for a barebone box, it is basically a pre-built case with all the hardware a typical PC has but without the bullshit that usually comes with branded pre-built systems. You can find these all over the internet, TigerDirect and NewEgg come to mind.

I got this, shoot when was it?? A few months back for around $800. You prob. can get a better system for cheaper now.

If you got that few months ago, why aren't you using it? !dodge
