The bots are good for advertising a forum, but they do eat up resources that should be there for the human members to use. One forum I visit is so full of bots that they make up for over half of the activity and sometimes make the server too busy to access. |

Yeah, they can be a pain, but they are good for people searching... They're all turned off now. When we go-live, then I will turn them back on, as well as register this site via Google's webmaster tools, which are very usefull. |

Gigabot is one of them. We give the bots accounts (it's actually a feature of this forum software we are using) so that we can control them, and tell them which forums they are allowed to index, and which they are not. There are quite a lot of bots out there, so it's not unusal to see one crusing these forums. Bots and crawlers (both classified as a [bot] on this site) are basicaly search engines "programs" that literaly crawl around the internet indexing web sites, so that when you search for Ballistic Weapons, this site will enventualy show up in the results  Indexing takes time, and the search engines are quite complex and have a bunch of rules etc. before they show the results. Nothing to worry about, and it helps us
