I feel that there is not enough members and I was thinking that maybe we need to "advertise" the site a little more to those who may be interested. At last I looked there was only 69 members and I really think that that's not really enough. I thought that maybe posting around some info on the net may help to raise interest, or maybe even a variety show crosses off list It's just a though, maybe this way we can accomplish more and really get more people interested in what we do maybe something along the lines of this, which i made earlier, for example Attachment: BWC recruitment poster.jpg

Wait, we have 69? I'm thinking the number who actually POST is like.... less than 15. Nice ad there. You could fix the paragraph though... "BWCommunity.com is a community site dedicated to the modification of Unreal Tournament 2004, specifically Runestorm's excellent weapons mod, Ballistic Weapons. If you are a coder, modeler, skinner, animator, or trying to learn how to do so, we invite you to join our site!" Iunno, I think yours could work, minus the last bit of an incomplete list (it's obvious, there's a comma after coding, and no 'and' added before coding).

Holy smokes! That's freakin' awesome! I love the 1950's ish theme you got going on there, really loving it! You deserve your own rank for that. Just tell me what you want. If you want, you can be the PR guy for BWC, promoting our site and stuff. PM me if you want the position.

This ad is recruiting but isn't giving the reader an actual reason to participate. Show a small thumbnail or two with the mod in action, to name an example. The eyes are the easiest to attract, so better use that to your advantage.

I think we should show some pics with the ad, but not as part of that actual picture, just maybe in the same post. Plus, I think for the most part, BW is more or less one of the higher rated mods for UT2004, so that kinda helps too.

well, i actually modified another poster, all i did was invert the colours (to suit BW a bit more), change the text and put an M806 in his hand, I changed the look of it to suit more with the theme of the poster. The whole thing took only like 30mins at the most, maybe i will clean it up a bit and fix the text to look like the original: @Xavious- alhough i am flattered that you offered the position, this is just a one shot thing for an example, and it's not really my work anyways, just edited Update: made this one in like 50mins... but has no information on it, I was hoping that someone else could *inspire* me... or just tell me what to put on it... Alright, if you don't want to be PR, I understand, and thats perfectly fine, but your contributions are still highly appreciated, Zer0! The new posters look great, but the one with the Rail Gun seems like it has a few errors or something. The main thing I see is that the lighter gray stripe on the guys lower face is kinda funky looking, same with the blue stripe between the back pack and his back. Other than that, I'm loving it! I'll have to see if I can figure something out to have it say, or else you can try asking SX, I think he's the resident writer around here, so he could offer some help, I imagine. I can't wait to post these around!

yeah, i've noticed a few errors too! for example: the guys arms are both on the same side of the gun, his right arm should go infront of the gun, not behind it... but i've started on that, probably take like 5 minutes to fix, along with the other errors you mentioned

Well, I intend on "freezing" the bw forums over on RuneStorm. So people will have to come here to post for bw stuff. That should drive some people here. If you finish up those nice posters, I can do a frontpage news article for you on RuneStorm. I will also sit down and sort out the search engine stuff, so this site shows up more on the search engines for ut stuff.

Wow... color change right on refresh. Freezing the BW forums on runestorm sounds mean but would actually be a good idea,provided you link to this site back on those forums.

yeah, colors have changed. Trying to get a nicer look going... No, RS needs less clutter, it will also be undergoing some changes sometime. RS's focus is no longer on BW, so BW stuff should go here, where the focus is on BW...

No, what I mean is that, there is too much stuff, too many forums over on RS, the BW forums must be active here. RS is focusing on new stuff, which means new forums etc. sometime.... I can't make the BW forums disappear on RS, cause I'm not (yet) moving those posts to here...but I can "freeze" them so no-one can post..maybe make like an archive over there...new stuff here... and we're going a bit off topic...sorry...

I was just thinking, what if we asked some people over at Deviant Art to join, they have an amazing amount of very talented people over there, and there are some people like Malmida, who has been mentioned a little here and at RS (especially by SX), who makes amazing (yet sometimes awkward) models and concepts. Obviously they're probably not gonna want to, because some of them probably wont have UT2004, but maybe we could ask them to help out with the visuals; Models, Skinning/texturing and maybe even Animating, and other stuff that doesn't really require the game... or just ask if we can use their existing stock just a thought

That would be cool. If you can get them over here, go for it! Concept art is always nice, and I'm sure there's a lot of talent there, hopefully some would like to contribute their skills to this little community.

Well right now this is just a site for dedicated BW modders (and people who love playing BW). Maybe the best way to advertise it would be to put together a server with all the new additions and advertise the server in any UT forums that you come across. What you need is more interest in the mods/mutators/Weapons/Maps that you guys put together, you need more interest. You may attract people to the site with cool looking posters and ads but what you need is something to keep them coming back.

Competitions would help greatly.... if people would actually post ENTRIES! It seems I have to make my model first and then poeple try to just make models after that.... That's what seems to have occured in these last 2 comps...

Yah i would love to make mods and put them together but sadly i can't get the UDE working properly =( I have so many creative ideas but no way of getting them together I dont think competitions is exactly what you need, i think what we need is progress, and the best way we can achieve this is finding out what each individual is good at and pair them up with other people to make groups of modders who can then make new weapon, etc, etc much faster. Maybe what we can do is figure out what people prefer working on and what type of weapon/map they like working on and try to pair them up in small groups?
