Hey, once I meant UV mapping (and get a rig able to animate at a NOT annoyingly slow speed), I can easily give off my weaps to get texturized and then we'd have a few more BW guns courtesy of me and whoever else helps me with my weapons!

I just have never learned UV mapping... that's what holds me back, personally.

yup, BW is still alive, but only here, being modded by the BW fans.

Yah i understand it takes a while to texturize, animate, and balance any new weapons, i was just wonering where everyone was at. I'm also wondering if this set of forums is the main BW forum or not. I've noticed that there are a few links to another forum (http://runestorm.com/pl/forum/forum_viewforum.php?27) and i'm just wondering which is the main forum for releases.

BW is not dead. :good:

BW as created by the original developers (Runestorm @ http://www.runestorm.com) is done. As for overall BW, it's not dead. We are trying to get a few more weapons modelled into UT for BW. As for me, I'm working on quite a variety of weaponry.

ah kk sweet. I tend to live under a rock and not follow up on much outside it's shadows. Yah i've been thinking about modding too and ended up downloading UDE for modding but for some reason its not working for me so i gave up =/

Yah i'm glad to see that the enthusiasm in BW is still alive and kicking. It would be pretty sweet if one of these days we all got together and played a few rounds of BW online? i mean like someone can set up a server on a weekend day? Maybe we should set up a thread for planning online games?

Hey, that's a good idea! I'd love to play against other people around here (too bad the guys who I talk with most around here aren't exactly on the fastest of connections...). I think Kaboodles still runs his testing server, so that can possibly be one option... I'll have to talk with Xavious about this one (or Kelly, both are better friends with Kab than I am).

YAh or maybe find someone to make a dedicated server, i would suggest using map mixer cus it shows the top 16 players stats plus it will cycle through different game types and maps randomly. In that way we could play more than just one game type.

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

I think most servers can just support voting for different gametypes. :P

Easier, and probably more efficient.

Yah true that would be nice too, i haven't played multiplayer on UT for sooooo long. But then again i've only just reinstalled UT like last summer some time.

I just got my UT to work properly like... last week! Before my mouse and keyboard were sticking for seconds at a time! Horrendous when trying to survive...

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

really? just faulty keyboard at one point?

Author:  OCAdam [ Sun Nov 23, 2008 1:22 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

This is the same keyboard as I've always had with this compy. After that Hurricane Ike.... that's when it went crappy for a long time. I think it had to do with some stuff that was forgotten by the computer when it was unplugged for so long.

AH i see, i don't have to worry about hurricanes or anything like that, just really cold weather

Next year I'll be up in Colorado (yay, got accepted to CSM!!!! been wanting to go there), so I'll also be in the cold, so as to say.

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

nice gj gj., but you'll still be a bit far away from me (Calgary, Alberta). SUrprisingly enough its been a mild winter so far, tahnkfully. BUt the coldest is in january though which i'm not loking forward too =/

SO anyways any news on an online match coming up? Maybe we should put a tourney together?

Btw wanted to say, that there is a slight problem with time zones...

Author:  zer0 [ Mon Nov 24, 2008 1:36 am ]
Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

Well, theres always a time difference in servers, can't be helped unless everyone lived in the same timezone, which will never happen, as far as I can tell...

The idea of the server is a good one

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

Thats why we have the tourney on say a weekend when people are more available.

I see that there is a ballistic server but how old is that one? Is it up to date? I think that we should put together a customized server with newer mods and specific game types for tournaments.

I'd love to get my mod online to actually get it tested out and have the thing balanced out for once. You know.... I need to create a final release for the R1 version of the thing.

Hey do it on a weekend and send me the beta mod and i don't mind helping you test it out.

It would be cool if we played Invasion with BW loadout.
If someone want to make it, I could suggest some monsters too.(Nali with Staffs and Railguns FTW!)
I can suggest some maps too.

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

For invasion i find the funnest mutators to use is zombies of nightmare with a ton of pupaes running around, in no time there will be a zombie invasion!

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

We could play Team DM too.
why we don't create a BWC server someday and play on it? maybe even a listen server?
then we could see a day for the party :D
maybe even go to Kaboodles server too.

Heh i'd own you =P lol jk jk

Yah if i could set up a server i would but my computer can't host =( Maybe we should set up a thread to discuss a possible server and which mods should actualy be in it? (Maybe even add a poll)

[quote="Dumorah"]Heh i'd own you =P lol jk jk
probably.
the only problem i think we could have is lag. you know, I'm in Brazil, lots of people here in USA/Canada, Zer0 in Australia... some in europe...

Author:  OCAdam [ Sun Nov 30, 2008 4:38 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

I know I'd be fine on lag issues (cable speed, USA based), but I know Xav would have hell with the net (26kbps, USA based).

I'd be fine with about any weapon set actually. I propose the following stuff for the muts list (to choose from at least):

UT2004RPG (set so everyone starts at level 50)
BW2.1 stock
BW2.1 Kelly's pack
BW2.1 Kab's pack
BW2.1 my pack
Weapons of Evil Sentinels
BW Sprint

Author:  Dumorah [ Sun Nov 30, 2008 6:08 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

I don't mind any packs really aslong as they are balanced, Kelly's super hand gun thingy will have to be disabled if we are going to be using loadout or ballistinc conflict, if its gonna be a regular Ballistic deathmatch then it'll be ok as a super weapon.

Ut2004 RPG would be pretty sweet. Just set it to level 1, exp to next level: 1, stats per level: 1, exp increment 1: and level multiplier for kills: 1. THis way even though new players are at a huge disadvantage when they join up they will still be able to catch up to higher level players in a not sdo long period of time. Plus ballistic weapons deal such high damage that the stats wont change the difficulty between combating players by that much.

An awesome map that i would suggest is Zeitkind, its a large scale city map thats a sweet map to play! Its great for long range (i mean extra long range), medium, and closer range combat. I'm sure it would be pretty sweet trying out multiplayer ballistics on this map. For this map i would suggest using regular ballistics weapon spawning instead of loadout, It'll make the game alot more enjoyable.

As for the other mods i've never really tried them out =/ WHat is the weapons of evil sentinels?

Heh i'm deadly in close combat, and medium range. Especially with my weapon combo =D

Post subject:  Re: BW still alive?

The WoE weapon set came with a mut for a Sentinels mut that allowed players to actually setup (and upgrade if set to) some small auto turrets. They fire either Link Gun Primary (default turret, kinda sucks), twin miniguns, a 9 rocket rocket launcher (kinda weak rockets though), a shock rifle (fires the ball first, then tries to combo the enemy when the ball is close enough), or a flamethrower that is REALLY deadly.

It also had a CPU upgrade (leads the targets so it hits more often, great on the standard turret and rockets, but minigun turret doesn't need it), Organic Motors (faster turning sentinel), Armor (turret takes a bit less damage when hit), Sensors (can detect enemies better), Molecular Shields (like armor, but it swallows all damage to turret for a while), and I think a few others.
