Post subject:  Oblivion players?
I know the game is a little dated now, and what with Fallout 3 it has been overshadowed, but does anyone here still play Oblivion?

I've just been getting into it again, and using the PC version, NOTHING is stock on my character. Custom race, custom gear, you name it, it's custom. Right now I'm wearing some cyber-punk-esque armor that I can guarantee no one else has (re-texed it myself), complete with goggles. Hooray!

I kinda play it now and then. Currently I'm trying to get in a suit of Doom armour with the help of my bro, who plays it a lot more than me.

Rigging the meshes is kind of a pain.

Urgh. Oblivion killed my computer yesterday.

I was trying to combine two mods for a custom goggle script. This caused my computer to overheat, which may have melted the soldering from the video card. Which in turn means a few hundred dollars in repairs >.<

Wow... sorry to hear it...
I was going to say that I would try to get a copy, but my PC practically overheats on it's own...

P.S could you not just re-solder it? or is it every bit of solder on the card has melted?

I did a "caveman's resolder" - I turned my computer on and put it between some blankets on my bed. It was on for about half an hour where it got really hot. Then, BAM! It works!

I have 2 laptops at the moment, one works alright... the other, well...
I have to shake it to turn it on, then keep it on charge, then I have to fix windows as I removed Norton 360 *shudders at the memory of the program* and it ripped half of windows as it left...

got any ideas?

The battery seems like it's fried. And if you have the operating disk, perhaps repairing the OS might make the windows re-appear. Note, repairing, NOT re-installing.

Otherwise it might be worth your time to Google Norton 360 and see if others have suffered similar problems and see what they suggest.

The shaking it? I have no idea how to fix it XD I'm much more software than hardware.

P.S I might just get it repair professionally (as long as it doesn't cost too much)

P.P.S the reason it works when I shake it is due to a loose connection between the power supply and the mother board...

I don't played it, though I was always observing him while he played.

Does 286 hours on oblivion sound sad to anyone? Since July last year? I've spent less than that playing unreal games since 1998.

I played it once,and I just freaking hate it.

Same voices,not-so epic music,very short sidequests,not many monsters,etc.

Also,I almost always get crashes,even if I have the unofficial oblivion patch.

There are some things I liked though,but I don't remember and don't wanna remember it.

Cthulhu,my most hated RPG game could be Oblivion.
