Just wondering, how people are reacting with that new Influenza where you live? My Winter Vacations were extended because of it (since people may travel to countries that have the disease and come here with the disease). At school we must use a alcohol to disinfect the hands before entering the classroom, our P.E classes won't have any activity involving balls (soccer, Volleyball, basketball, Handball...) , we also can't do Schoolworks in group anymore, etc. People which show signs of flu are asked to go to home, since they may have the swine flu. So how it is affecting your life? |

I've been feeling flu-ish lately, but that's about it. It isn't being really characterized as a serious threat here. |

People were going nuts about it not too long ago, but things have calmed down. There haven't been any cases in the area yet. |

A person at my mother's work claims she has swine flu, but keeps on coming to work. (She has a history of being an idiot so we're not sure if we believe her or not.) |

I've already had it. It lasted five days and felt like a cold with a bigger headache than normal. In other places here in the UK they're considering keeping schools closed when they are supposed to open again at the beginning of September. We've got the most cases in the world at the moment: by Autumn (or 'Fall' as many of you put it) the health service are predicting 100,000 new cases a day. Keeping the schools closed isn't going to stop it. It's too late for that. |

Tom10320 wrote: Autumn (COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC) That's my cat's name! Anyway, like I said, it's not being really shown as a threat here in the US. If somebody got swine flu, they'd probably send them home and tell them to stay until 24 hours after the symptoms are gone. Then it's back to school as normal. Last year, we had a couple schools in our area get shut down when one kid had it, but that was when everyone was freaking out about it. |

I'm in Britain... therefore everybody is screaming about how deadly it is and we are all going to die... Despite the fact that there is a higher mortality rate from normal flu... Mal P.S also if you have a cough and go to the doctor then you are labeled with swine flu... even if it is just a cold XD |

raziel wrote: I'm in Britain... therefore everybody is screaming about how deadly it is and we are all going to die... ah, Britain. the land where all progress grinds to a halt because of a few inches of snow. (nothing against Britain BTW) the Whole "Swine flu" thing was just pathetic. i'm more likely to die by falling asleep and drown in a bowl of cereal. and surprise, surprise, the Failure-at-life organization, PeTA used swine flu to further there already fail "Meat Kills" campaign. |

Hmm... snow... Seems so odd that some people can't see it so very easily. Can be quite pretty, but can also be very dangerous and destructive. |

No, when you live with snow every winter it gets old real fast.

Yeah, it loses its charm pretty quickly, particularly if you had to shovel the snow out of your driveway when its a foot or more deep. Several days a week. Man, I forgot how much snow we got this winter. That was a lot. |

there is something a little more pressing then Swine Flu here. the Californian Wildfires. the valleys are burning up and noxious fumes Poisons the sky. good thing i live a Few minutes away from the Marina. so the sea breeze pushes the Smoke into the Valleys so they choke on the fumes. ![]() also from where i am, the smoke from the Fires look like a Nuke went off down there. like a Mushroom Cloud. though a little, Whitish and minus the radiation. i hope for a storm. haven't had a good Rain/lightning storm in a while.
