Post subject:  How To Texture in Blender(i think)?

I have Made a Model and would like to take it further (hopefully into UT2k4/3)

So what do i need to do .

someone gave me a list

Quote:
texture, rig and animate your weapon, then export the weapon mesh and it's animations to a format that UT3 will accept i.e .PSK & .PSA

But I still do not know what really to do. I looked at some tutorials

And they just when right through me.

Any help?

I'm assuming Blender has some form of UV editor? Give your mesh UV's then export a wireframe for Photoshop or Paint or whatever, then texture it..

UV's are the step between untextured mesh and textured mesh.. I'm sure Blender will have some kind of UV system to UV your mesh. After that it can't be hard to export the wire frame (or some kind of guide). You could google "Blender UV's" or something like that..

I read a tutorial about UV's
http://biorust.com/index.php?page=tutor ... l&tutid=85
and it seemed that where you actually had to put the textures was quite complex even on the simple boxy thing.

And My Mesh is a bit more Complex than that shape.

Well it's no harder than modelling. It sucks sure, but it is a very nessecary step. No UV's, no texture.. After doing it a few times, it'll get easier like everything :)

Yeah, UV mapping kinda sucks, but foruntely, Blender has some really sweet UV tools. The best way to do it is to mark off the seams (make sure you have enough seams), and then just unwrap it. Works pretty much flawlessly.

Some Type Of Rifle .

Doesn't Kill in one shot (like a sniper rifle) But shoots Quicker (than a sniper rifle, but slower than a assault rifle).

Also Has a Adjustable scope and a Tripod.

nice. so it's like a paratrooper rifle? (a paratrooper rifle has a scope and a slower rate of fire than most AR's.)
