I will make a small PMG tuto for people who wants to use some special features Here is the interface Attachment: interfacebq.jpg I/ THE INTERFACE 1/ The weapon summoning Did by File + New weapon It summons weapons and erase the current stuff in the field The trick with it's for obtaining that bipod it can be only obtained by summoning that Cheytac then deleting the uninteresting parts with the exception of the bipod 2/ The parts It opens a menu with many menu buttons and submenus Select all to see all the stuff or the other buttons to see some more particular stuff then click on it to do what you want to do with There is nothing in the bayonettes part witch is supposed to have knives 3/ The selector switch It allows to select what your mouse cursor will do by default it's on part movement (the arrow button) - a/ The arrow button is made for moving parts around the design area - b/ The angle button is made for rotating stuff, you can do so by clicking on the wanted part and move your mouse, you can use also the rotation text zone to write the desired angle in degrees - c/ The shrink / enlarge button,, it's made to shrink or enlarge wanted stuff by clicking on the things we want to enlarge or shrink then moving the mouse cursor by maintaining the click to do so, you can also use the text bar in the same manner as the angle one but the zooming is shown in percentage 4/ The plan switch order buttons it allows to place pieces forward or backwards of each other pieces the two extreme border buttons are for first and last plans and the two in the center for moving up or down 5/ The switch side buttons Useful for changing the sides of the parts 6/ The group and ungroup buttons It allows for creating or dissolving part groups, it's very useful for creating "self made" combined stuff or entire weapons then moving them / zooming and such 7/ The duplicate button Useful for copying single, multiple selection and it's useful for copying groups 8/ The trash can useful for deleting unwanted stuff 9/ The side scrolls Useful when making big weapons 10/ The Search bars in the menus They are useful for searching parts in the part menu and weapons in the weapon menu 11/ The multiselection Like some MS text softwares we can multiselect entities so in PMG it can be made by clicking and move the mouse to make a square that can select things, or use the shift button, then select the part we want to select together, this is very useful for making groups and cloning multiple parts then moving them /!\ with multi selected parts you cannot rotate them and keep their positions between each other, you have to group the parts then rotate if you want to keep the design as it is, if you don't do that the parts will turn around their own center II/ The tricks I use and ar possible with the new PMG Attachment: Weapon test.jpg The pieces used for that test weapon AK 47 / 74 RIS M203 Rail mounted (short) 2 gray square shapes (with one shrunk at 80%) SSR 25 stock Unnamed pistol grip #2 M406 HE grenade 1/The trick behind the M203 when you select some pieces they come as a single part but the thing you have to do is checking is the ungroup button becomes appears to be changed or not when you select your piece. If that's possible that means you can disassemble the piece into smaller pieces, in that case separate the M203 trigger from the barrel Check with any piece you are you put in the design zone some of them are composed of 2 up to more pieces, even some unsuspected pieces, most complete receivers can be disassembled by that way I did the same thing with the AK 47 / 74 RIS and I used only one part and deleted the other witch was unnecessary for the test 2/The shapes Like the old PMG you can use the shapes to hide what you want to hide, in that case I wanted to link the stock with the rest of the weapon to make it cleaner and avoid the use of unnecessary stuff to do that link When you want to make a part that disappear make the shape white and place it over. But now we can give them a metal color witch is useful for creating some holes 3/The colors The new Pimp my gun offers more basic colors than before + it has the possibility to use HTML codes for them This link shows them: http://html-color-codes.com/ when you use a new color in the color browser, you can use those colors in future uses by using the little button with a "+" at the bottom of the browser this will add your custom color at the browser. For deleting a color, you have to select it and click to the trash can to delete it. 4/ Making rivets / screws this is a thing I like to use in my weapons to give the feeling that the weapon is made with pieces / parts mostly when I use colored shapes on my creations 5/ Digital screen (LCD / LED) this is an other thing I use for my creations they are very easy to make and they add a cool futuristic feel to the weapon Here is the how to make them in pictures: Attachment: Rivets and digits.jpg Contributors: Blade Sword Chaos marine Any questions ? Is the tuto understandable and correct ? |

I think that is very helpful..... Maybe you can send an email to the guy that made the app and see if he wants to put it on his site. As an official tutorial. |

Yeah it was simple but I prefer the new there is more pieces per weapons, more separations despite some realistic separations make some concepts tricky to do but I love the shapes and there is a lot of things that makes it more practical to use. I can multi select, create groups, copy parts, I gain a save a lot of time with. I love the color customization, I have to say thanks to ChaosMarine for his link that I would add to the tuto I also will publish new tricks that people perhaps wants to know. Once you know some tricks building some thing become easier. I post it here now. HTML colors -> http://html-color-codes.com/ |

Didn't I post a site like that on the other pimp-my-gun thread? And I think his goal was for it to be simple. |

That's because you are new to this forum, the best you can do is to parse the pictures with an image hosting website, after some time you could post images and host them into the forum There is imageshack but I prefer a lot Pict, you can have an album with your entire art that is automatically saved |

Here is something more to add to this: Shortcuts: Arrow Keys: Move selected items by 1 pixel SHIFT + Arrow Keys: Move selected items by 10 pixels V: Move tool R: Rotate tool S: Scale tool SHIFT + G: Group selected parts SHIFT + B: Ungroup (only if a group is selected) SHIFT + D: Duplicate selected parts Delete: Currently disabled And this is some useful info: - Many parts such as stocks, rail covers, RIS and more come grouped. You can ungroup them for further customization. - If you have a small monitor/resolution, try using CTRL + Scroll to resize the application. |
