You got Fifth place: The Crucible by RuneStorm Team (Prize: $500) Best Art Category, As Usual the Judges are morons, they know jackshit about real talent.

That contest has been rigged since day 1.

Anyhoo Buy Some beer with it and kick back..Again Congrats!

Right, just like movie critics loved "Paranormal activity" & criticized "Avatar". Paranormal activity sucked, Avatar ruled.

If I've learned anything from the critics, it's that you have to go with the opposite of what they say. :D

Though they got one thing right here, you guys definitely have amazing art. ;)

Deathstorm, I have seen neither films, but I get the feeling you are only weighing special effects in your statement.

As for the actual thread subject, congrats Runestorm. Those $500 would buy you a GT300 series card. I want a GT300 series card.

Well, a big well done to the devs anyway!

They have come a very very long way over the last year and have shown that the people like their stuff anyway...

As for the contest...yeah, well...shit happens...we still wait for the finals :)

I still think that for a couple of guys in deepest darkest africa (with no DSL and only a couple of very modest PC's) to have a placing (and a lot of wins) in each phase of one of the biggest game modding competitions in the world, is simply awesome!!

I hope some publishers and game studios took notice, because they are going to have some competition later this year when the devs release some commerical stuff :)
Yes, I will add to the rumors...the devs are having a go with the UDK, and hopefully in the not too far distant might just perhaps make some real money with a commercial offering...I am positive that will lead to bigger and better games being produced by RS. Don't think big for the first release, think small and awesome!

Anyhow, congradulations to all the winners of the contest. Everyone has worked hard, and there has been some excellent work produced all round...

They exist yes. The development is finished but they are still in production, so they are not up for sale just yet.

Yeah, a bit dissappointing, but i think it is still a great achievement for just three people with a Dial-Up connection.. :clap:

As for our plans, can't say much, you'll see when the time comes, however i give you my word that you wont be dissappointed.. :handgestures-thumbupright:

Great work guys, 5th place is pretty sweet. You guys have always done impressive work, and this new stuff is no different. Out of the stuff they picked that got higher then 5th none of them looked as good or awesome as The Crucible. :handgestures-thumbupright:

i agree with turdrive the ball is crap it dosnt deserve 1st place runestorm is the best modding site ever no matter what anyone says :D by the way you cant mock runestorm when you can on the ball its simple the ball is a bunch of BALLS!!!

Has anyone actually played The Ball? Its actually pretty fun, but its not something I'd ever consider paying for at any point, unlike Crucible.

Yes, it kinda sucks that they only received a 5th place in Art, but hey, it hasn't tarnished their record of placing in every phase so far. :)

Yeah but they had to invent something else, something more original, rather than a portal copy with tweaks.
I think you remember one of the most famous UT 99 mods that was tactical ops witch is highly similar to counter strike, now UT 3 have it's own First Person Puzzle game The ball

i actually got my avatar from this really good website called signature bar just in case you were wondering ;D
anyway back on topic the ball i played it once its a good puzzle game and it does deserve a place in msuc just not first place
and angels fall first deserves 2nd place for definite because it has gameplay that cant be matched it is starred in outer space or on a planet if it can be textured better it would make a really good game
and first is obviously to runestorm because the crucible dosnt start fresh like the others listed it mixed with ut3 and makes a hybrid which eventually ut3 wont even be able to match all hail runestorm ;D
