I've got a problem with UDK or Vista, I don't know which is the cause. So I'm learning how to work with UDK to make games. I decided to follow some tutorials. I found a really easy one that explains how to set up a simple working game with UDK and finish it up into a stand alone game. The tutorial says to edit the DefaultEngine.ini to add +EditPackages=MyGame to a list of other EditPackages. This looks alot like the old UT2k4 way of compiling .uc files. So I open up DefaultEngine.ini with notepad, add the line and hit save file. Now I get an error message saying: "Can't create the file D:\Program Files\UDK\UDK-2009-11\UTGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini Check if the path is correct and the right filename is given." I think it's Vista not allowing me to edit Configuration files with notepad. Got any ideas to how I can edit it anyways? |

Yeah, it's usually something blatantly obvious. I had something similar happen to me once. I felt dumb for a week, so I can relate. |
