well, I have a very good Graphics card, so theres no need to get a new one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150364 the link there is the gpu that i have, I plan on gaming primarily with the quad core, some video editing with vegas movie studio from time to time.

EDIT: yes, full metal alchemist is amazing! i like the series, havent seen the movie yet!

My i7 920 is a monster, even at the stock clock frequency. Nothing else needed to be said really. Depending on your budget you can go for i7 series or Core 2 Quad series, or go with an AMD quad core (or triple core).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820134792 - this is the memory im getting, I ordered 2 of these, so im getting 8GB!

Bad move. With DDR2 this would have been okay (although it is preferable to minimize number of modules), but with DDR3 you want to get 3x 2 GB and fire it up in triple-channel.
The extra 2 GB above those 6 will extremely rarely, if ever, give you benefits anyway, so you got nothing to lose.

I got 3x 2 GB DDR3-1066 and it is bloody fast, and even underperforming as I still got a 32-bit OS.

Your current choice costs ca. $210 (you bought 2 of that 2x2 GB kit right?), this 6 GB triple channel kit is both faster and $20 cheaper.

The best way to truly utilize the quadcores is to make extensive use of the affinity mapping in Task Manager. Also you can use tools like imagecfg to permanently modify the affinity header of an exe file. That is a nice workaround until games and other heavy applications more commonly have internal (and effectively distributed) multi-threading support.

yea, I had to tweak my 64 bit windows 7 to use all 4 cores for my quad core bc it only detected 2 cores! but, i looked it up and tweaked it now!!
