Post subject:  what if the burning legion invaded modern day earth
this is a fourm for you warcraft fans out there, but basically this ask the question of what would happen if the Buring legion invaded earth, but take into consideration, that;

we earthborn humans have done and seen so much evil that it's instinctive for us to know somthings evil just by looking at it.
earth was its own well of entirnaty, but insteed of providing magic for us to use it insteed absorbs it for an unknown purpose, possibly conected to azeroth's well.
earthborn humans haven't been exposed to magic for millinia and thus havn't developed a resedence to it. I.e. exporsue to nutreul magic will turn some people into elves (with a litte gender bending in), while thous exposed to fel magic will be tainted and corrupted to the legions will, if they havn't already died of somthing, like suicide or gunfire, or good old shadow bolts.
just because demons have metal skin dosn't mean it can block bullets, knights wore metal armour but did it block bullets noooo!

hmmm.... well as this is a hypothetical question about a legion from one game appearing, that would mean that we should be able to summon people from other games too?
If so, I would either call for a small force of the Iron Snakes... :3
Or, if not them, then get the staff of oblivion off Nox and laugh as the legions fall...
Or something equally as evil...

i hope you read up on your warcraft lore, because the last time someone drank demon blood were the orcs and they became slaves to the legion's will, sorry man but i would be forced to shoot you in the face with a Heavily modified M16A2 that fires the 6.68 mm round and an underslung pump-action grenade launcher.

We'd probably end up much like how the general Warcraft story goes..

Though i'd bet there would be alot more Arthas', Illidans, and Groms, so we would be in a real mess, and i wouldn't expect many heroes like Uther, or Thrall, lets just hope we don't have a medivh eh.... ;)

I think that it would rather just be a practical demonstration of how long a machinegun can fire continuously without melting the barrel.

true but we there will be plenty of people (i.e. most of th population) will be good guys (or close anough) to challenge the legion to battle, resulting in epic awsome

i also have a basic idea how this will go out

legion finds earth
sayaad (succubae and incubae) scout earth politics, only to find us hard to corrupt with simple persussion, due to christin influance. legion commander hesotates and calls for invasion. legion invades china because it has the worlds largest army and population, and using their blood to taint the water supply and bend the chinese to their will, resulting in massive demon invasion on the rest of the earth and her peoples.

The easiest way would be to get control of as many of the current leaders as possible (political and corporate). This is easily accomplished, just offer them power. Everyone will just do what they are told as always.
Why battle against armies when you can control them? If they wanted to slaughter eveyone, they could quitely erode and dissolve any potential resistance beforehand.
The legion could completely control earth and noone would even know it. The best prisoners are the ones that think they are free.

Humans are no strangers to war, its what we've done all our existance. This war would be no different to any other, there'd just be more non-human casualtys.

I'm pretty sure we'd survive. We've survived this long haven't we?

And who is it that start wars?, not the people who fight them, thats who... :)

If we we're to look at this factually, earth is easy to invade so long as our leaders(ie: The people that everyone follows blindly) are easy to bribe and corrupt, just give them power and they'll do whatever you want.... ;)

Most human beings who are "leaders" these days are also the weakest examples of human beings, and most of human beings are weak at the best of times anyway, so i think we'd be screwed as a whole.... :D

i think someone forgot about this line, as it cleary states that as soon as the demons make their offer of power to the leaders, they will hesitate and most loikly refuse because they know the demons are evil and the results of the deal would make, as a result, most people in positions of power would refuse, forcing the legion to make them drink demon, which will most likly fail due to armed guards

true, but a 6.68 mm round is of surpior crulaty than any azerothian bullet, and thus has more stopping power, so a modern gun would still be a good weapon for fighting demons at a distance, and even if you survived the taint and maintain freewill after eating the demon, you would most likly continue to use guns anyways because whats the point of melee combat if you can't get close enough to hit the i.e. bringing a sword to a gun fight= bad idea, also if shitty dwarven guns can hurt and kill demons, than imagine what an M16 would do to to a felguard or better yet, a dreadlord.

It would certainly be an interesting event, and with modern weapons we would easily have better luck than those weak yet effective dwarven weapons.. :D

The legion would likely be pummeled if they couldn't persuade our leaders.... ;)

I love melee weapons, too bad nobody uses 'em nowadays. But its still cool to go with a ranged weapon attached with a melee weapon on it.

Like the M16 you referred, but with a bayonet. Although it would be useless, Warcraft Demons hardly feel the melee pain.
