I would have gone for a simple headshot instead of the water, it takes less energy to pull the trigger.
Pretty good story though! I certainly hope you were using a gold plated R98.

It's about time I showed off one of my stories. Now, this is only the first chapter, I won't show off the rest (because it's more adult oriented), so you'll have to go to my DA page to read the rest. Enjoy the first chapter of Argent. Chapter 1: Canyon After Storm went into the teleporter, he was teleported to the Planet Dessara in the Sot Solar System, it was a desert like planet with blistering sands, heat and everything else that was in a desert. Storm touched down in the area known as Saguaro Canyon. He got up to his feet and surveyed the area, it was filled with yellow sand and rock walls, there was a bridge leading to an oasis, vital for hydration. That was the top part, the bottom part was filled with sand, and nothing more, he saw that there was a cave and it looked like it would be the way out. But before he could leave this place, the cave created a force field that blocked his path. “Oh great...” Storm sighed and he looked around before hearing a bullet shot ring out, he ducked and dodged out of the bullet’s way, it ricocheted off the rock and into the blue skies. He saw Cheyanne, one of the Gears cocking her R78A1 Sniper Rifle, she grinned with maliciousness and aimed her rifle at Storm. “I’ll take you out Storm!” She shouted at him and fired another bullet. He dodged again, this time, rolling behind a rock for cover. He pulled out his R98 rifle and cocked the rifle, ejecting the empty shell, he then looked for Cheyanne, who was aiming for his head. “KRAAAK!!” Storm quickly hid behind the rock, the bullet hit the rock and ricocheted into the sand. Storm countered by taking a pot shot and fired at Cheyanne. “KRAK!” The bullet missed Cheyanne, and she wasn’t happy, she leaped into the water and dived underwater, Storm looked at her and fired into water, hoping it would coax her out. The bullet missed her, and she got out of the water and fired at Storm. This time, the bullet grazed his neck, he felt a burning pain in his neck as he held it, blood seeped a little bit onto his hand, though his wound quickly healed. “Gah... gotta be careful.” While he was distracted with his wound, Cheyanne used her power of teleportation to teleport to Storm’s location and kicked the rifle out of his hands. Disarming him, Storm quickly countered by punching her in the face, making her fall down off of the canyon, landing on her back. “THUD!” “Oof!” She winced in pain, but she quickly got up. Storm grabbed his rifle and cocked his rifle. “SHIK-CLIK-SHIK-CLIK!” He then aimed the rifle at Cheyanne and fired the last of his clip at her, but she dodged and even cartwheeling, the bullet almost hitting her lady part. “Missed, punk!” She taunted at him. He sighed and holstered his rifle, he knew he wasn’t going to win the long ranged battle, so he had to get in close in order to get her. He pulled out his sawed off shotgun and his Kelvin Gauntlet, he ran and jumped off the canyon edge and jumped. He plowed his gauntlet into the ground, making a ring of large icicles,Cheyanne dodged the attack and pulled out her H&K MK.23 pistol. It was a black pistol chambered with .45 bullets and could be attached with a silencer. She had 12 bullets in her clip while Storm’s shotgun had two 12 gauge shells in both chambers. He destroyed the icicles as he charged with shotgun in hand, Cheyanne did the same and both locked horns. They matched kicks and punches, their legs were locked as Storm aimed his shotgun at Cheyanne’s head. “Here’s some buckshot for you to chew.” Storm fired both barrels, but he missed as Cheyanne tripped Storm, he fell down and she buried his face in the sand. “MFFFMMF!” “Eat it!” Cheyanne was going to suffocate him by making him to eat sand. He struggled to pull his head out, his lungs were burning with sand and grit, it felt like someone was jabbing his lungs with hot needles. “MMMRRRG!!!” Cheyanne laughed as she sat down on the back of Storm’s head, feeling her core on the back of his head, he was slowly dying and he only had one chance to free himself before he has to resurrect. He fumbled around and grabbed her leg with his Kelvin Gauntlet, then he threw her into the canyon wall. He pulled himself up and gasped, coughing sand onto the ground and his vision was blurry from the sand in his eyes. He grabbed his shotgun and reloaded it with two new shells, he flicked the shotgun shut and watched Cheyanne come charging towards him again. He had an idea this time, he fired the shotgun at Cheyanne, which made her dodge, then Storm ran up the wall thanks to his magic, he went up the wall and loaded his shotgun again, but this time, he rigged with a trap, once Cheyanne was close to it, it would blow up and the shells would tear her feet apart. Once he did that, she would be immobile and Storm could take her pistol and kill her. He was certain it would be foolproof. That is, if she didn’t come the other direction, which... she did. Cheyanne came from the other side and leapt onto Storm’s back, pounding his head with fists, hoping he would be knocked down, but he wouldn’t go down that easily. “Get off me, you evil woman!” He shouted, leaning back and forth as Cheyanne laughed evilly as she tried to get him to his proxy mine shotgun. He had to think of something quick, and he knew what to do. He leaned back, and leaped off the canyon’s edge, he got her into a power bomb and dropped her onto her head with a thud, she cried out in pain. “OWEE! Not supposed to do that the girl!” She cried out. “You’re an enemy, so it doesn’t matter.” He replied. She kicked him in the stomach and he flew into the rock wall, slamming his back against the wall, he slid down the wall and hit the sand. He moaned for a bit before pulling his AK out and holding it with one hand, he fired it at Cheyanne, but the recoil and spread of the bullets made it hard for him to her. She ran up to him once his gun went dry, she grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him into the canyon wall that had the oasis. “KRUNNCH!” Storm may be hurting, but he had her right where he wanted her. She ran up to him, but he decked her in her gut, which stunned her, then he got up and grabbed her and threw her vertically up, and the proxy shotgun mine went off. “BOOOOMM!” The mine exploded and took off her legs, she screamed as she flew into the wall, slamming her into the wall, sliding down with blood stains on the wall, she gasped and coughed as Storm walked over to her. “Please... spare me...” She plead for her life, but Storm couldn’t save her, even if he wanted to. He took her pistol and spare clips and holstered it. Then he grabbed her by the hand and leaped back up into the oasis and splashed Cheyanne into the water. "SPLAASH!” Cheyanne gurgled, her head was underwater and Storm held her down by her neck. Her arms held his arm muscles, but it was the end for her, she inhaled water so much, that within seconds, her vision faded to black and her heart stopped beating. Storm let her go and grabbed the remote that controlled the force field, he pressed the button and the force field protecting the cave went down. He threw the remote in the water and it short circuited. “Farewell... you were a worthy foe...” Storm whispered as he leapt down to the ground and head for the cave, leaving Saguaro Canyon. |
