Nope, I've watched people play it and it doesn't appeal to me.

Minecraft, I watched a few youtube videos, I fail to see what the big deal is. Bulletstorm though, it does look like great fun, where the M rating means something, UT3 rated M, what a joke.

M rating like ratings means nothing today but Bulletstorm is filled with gore, I'm not totally satisfied to what I'm seeing for this game, but I will probably get it after getting an hand on the demo

Bulletstorm's main gimmick (skill shots) is so forced that it loses its appeal for me, and all the sexual references expressed in skill shots and player lame-liners do not appeal to me either. What do words like dick-tits or phrases like "Strap on your dildos" even mean? That just sounds really embarrassing and gay (Not that I have anything against that particular sexuality.).

And then there is Epic's hypocrisy. Bulletstorm was their proof that they still cared about the PC, and then they put GfWL on it and decide to release a demo much later than for the consoles.


Not seeing the big deal in Minecraft either. There is no purpose or goal, it is just mindless building. I could save myself some money and bring my old legos from the attic.

that's a bit why I'm waiting for a damn PC demo. I know that Grayson would never be as cool as Sam (serious sam) and can't ever reach the bit of the top master -> Duke Nukem
But I like the idea of the skill shots and having wacky weapons to do this since there is too few games with that today.
Sure there is a lot of disappointments that seems to come with this game GFWL, no editor, and other features that seems to make this game not much different than the crowd of shooters these days ...

BS isn't one of this cluster of pointless modern military shooters that seem to spring out of every hole in the ground these days. That alone makes it something i want

It looks to me like the developers of BS have had fun making it, and are trying something a little different. That makes me think it will probably be good fun

Bulletstorm was developed by People Can Fly, who are most famous for Painkiller and its expansion Battle out of Hell. It is sad though that the publisher who owns the rights to the IP has repeatedly smeared it with faeces with PK: Overdose and PK: Resurrection. There is even a third abomination coming; PK: Redemption. The names alone are painfully ironic.

Man, where is the Bulletstorm demo, wanted to try it?

It just says that's a console port which is what it is, I'm not surprised either, probably they didn't wanted that people complain about these issues, unfortunately some people posted in the Epic games forums and they delete every post being a bit too negative for their taste

Yes, well some go waaay overboard in their "constructive criticism". The best way to vote for the features you want is with money. So if you buy seemingly broken stuff, you're telling the dev's/publishers, that it's all cool.

On the other hand, i've never had such strong opinions on any game that i'd rant like some of these guys. I'll get BS at some point in the future at any rate

I'm interested in seeing BulletStorm. I don't really care if theres no editor, most games don't have editors. I'm not concerned by the late demo or even no demo. I have patience, so I will see the PC demo if they bring it and I can wait long enough for the price to come down. There may also be patches by then.
I like the idea of a fun, crazy action game with cooperative MP and interesting ways of killing enemies. Since killing is pretty much what most FPS are all about, the added depth to the kills should be great fun. This game looks fun like Serious Sam or Duke Nukem. Whats the worst that can happen, its not the most awesome game ever?

I like the idea of games that try humor instead of just horror or suspense.
Its also nice to see a game that doesn't have the words: Strike, Ops, Tac, Special, Tactical, Force, Counter, Operations, Assault or any of the other stereotypical titles associated with uncreative, monotonous and cripplingly realistic gameplay...

But you know what isn't nice? A mediocre PC port.

You know I think I will probably get it after at least trying the demo first, but the review sounds a good one.
that's a bit problematic that the game is bad port and shipped with DRM.
At least I prefer this style of games than what we have most of the time today.

People vote for excessive DRM and lazy PC porting with their wallets.
Publishers are like children; it is our responsibility to discipline them. To this day gamers have been anything but good parents.

Exactly, we need more games where you can just have good "Un-Serious" fun, so I'd get BulletStorm even if it's all PC Port and etc etc..

I've played Resident Evil 4 on the PC, and you had no way of knowing what your controls were, but you learn them as you go and the end up enjoying the game, so PC port or not, if it's a good game, it's a good game...

unfortunately PC gamers aren't well treated these days but you know I think I will get BS if the demo shows me that the game is good. I will try also to get DNF even if most these games are filled with crap now.
The only reason are because they had some of the old school fun with them, even if unfortunately they have things that they shouldn't have like some stupid gameplay elements just because it's a damn trend ...

It's hard to enjoy anything when you're disabled. That retort was unnecessary.

I find very little fault with games outside of personal taste. I don't feel like i'm being attacked by or "betrayed" by anyone.

In what way are you disabled?

All i'm wondering is how a bad PC port is worse for someone with disabilities? Is it harder to use a console controller?

Also, my apologies. I worded that statement up there wrongly. I meant to say that it is presumably more difficult to do something when you suffer from a disability. I didn't see how a bad port could make it worse for someone who suffers from some form of movement impairment.

When controls are hardcoded or their remapping limited (like in Dead Space) it is a major inconvenience for someone who has limited ability to use one or both of his/her arms/hands, nevermind those who are left handed in the days of WASD.

There was a recent story on a disabled person making a complaint about Dead Space 2's limited control remapping, and the developer responded to it by making the game's controls fully remappable in a future patch. Why this was not done in the first place is arguably because the PC version was made in a rush of laziness. The person in question wanted (or rather, needed) the ability to map most of the common functions to the mouse.

Even though it is very straight forward and easy to implement, and in many cases welcomed by non-disabled people as well, accessibility is neglected enough in good PC ports or the ultra rare developed-for-PC games, in bad ones it can hardly be better.

Subtitles (and a checkbox for sound-to-text clues) for hearing impaired, full remapping freedom for motion impaired, stuff like good surround sound and flexible colour correction for visually impaired; this stuff doesn't seem so crazy to implement does it? Yet these things are fairly inconsistently implemented on a game-to-game basis.
