Finally made it out of Air force basic training and tech school alive!

What have I missed over the past 6 months to a year? I still got BW installed and a few of the weap packs(what are the newest additions I'm missing out on?).
I see RS has a new UE mod coming up, still haven't the computer to play crucible...

I plan on getting a new PC soon... still rockin the 5 year old intel imac, it needs to die. For now it will serve it's use, got apple to replace the $500 screen for free even though it's been out of warranty for 4 years, haha.

So whats everybody doing? Who's come and gone, whats new?

If you guys have any questions about my past 6 months go ahead and ask away.

Ah, great to have you back... :D

Hmmm, where should I start...

There is the new BW v2.5 update which add several new weapons and some fixes...

The Crucible v1.2 for UT3, cleaned up and running better than ever as a mutator, along with a new RoadRage map and some other extras...

And you can check out our new project, Rook's Keep, kind of a violent take on chess and the like... ;)

You may know of all this already though... :)

How's the Airforce been?

The AF has been interesting, lots of changes in my life.
One of the few bad ones is my knees are killing me now after all the running they make us do during PT(physical training). Other then that, can't really complain.

I got a dorm in Wyoming right now, i share a kitchen and a bathroom with my suite mate(he lives in a room next to me). I've just been doing a lot of processing(paper work and intro stuff) at my first base, nothing too exciting so far. Awaiting further training on ICBM(Nuclear missile maintenance). Basic sucked, just two months of running around constantly and getting yelled at. haha, eating meals in literally 3 seconds with three glasses of liquids on top of it. Tech school was just a lot of cramming, tests, and going out to the trainer missile site(practicing removing and putting the missile together). Busy long days, now I have too much spare time it feels like.

I feel better though, just stronger and more discipline after everything said and done with all the training.

I downloaded BW 2.5, what are the links for the custom content i should look into? I have a few of the user made wep packs... not sure which though(it's been a while).

I plan on checking out the crucible and new RS project when i get my new comp for sure!

That sounds tough as hell, I'd imagine that icbm training will be a little more relaxed.

and BW 2.5 is amazing the grenade pistol is the best ;D

we needed a new grenade launcher.

Yeah the training will be more relaxed, tech school was more of a preliminary thing just to see if we could do it or not.

I really liked the acid spitter and grenade launcher, haha.
Still longing for a BW style AK47 for some reason.

I'm looking forward to that for sure.

Just bought a 6 core 3.2Ghz, 1G Radeon 6870 with 8Gb of ram custom built computer(putting it together soon)! My first windows driven computer, wish me luck ;)

You're going with Windows 7 64-bit I assume? It is a joy to use.

Yes sir, that is correct.
Whats your rig looking like these days Bjossi? I'll give you more detail on my system if you're curious at all.

Post subject:  Re: Hello hello

I'm curious. Mine is:

CPU: i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz
GPU: 1 GB AMD HD 5770
RAM: 6 GB DDR3-1066
APU: SB X-Fi Fatal1ty
MBO: Intel Xsomething, X57 or X58 iirc
OPS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)

A fairly budget system by today's standards. I didn't want to go high end because honestly I don't care about medium or high settings in games, or if some processing takes a few dozen seconds longer, I just make a sandwich or something.

If you run into any troubles with the OS you could ask us here. Even I had some difficulties with Win7 at first after ditching XP, but it is stable as helium and fluid to use now that I've gotten to know it for 10 months.

CPU: AMD Phenom 3.2Ghz 6 core
GPU: Radeon 6870 1GB (GDDR5 memory)
RAM: 8GB Corsair DDR3
MBO: AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s
OPS: Windows 7 premium

Not sure what APU means... accelerated processor unit? I listed all of the main things assuming MBO stands for mother board, haha not too savy with computer part lingo.

Should this be a pretty beast rig? My brother has a very similar one and loves it.
I'll be sure to ask questions about W7 if needed!

Post subject:  Re: Hello hello

Looks like a fairly good system. APU stands for audio processing unit by the way.

Hmm... didn't buy one of those. I can't wait to test out the system when i get it though.

I wouldn't bother with one unless you find something cheap from Creative. The built-in audio solutions are quite good nowadays. Plus WinVista and 7 pretty much killed hardware accelerated sound, so that is one of the good reasons gone for having a dedicated sound card. They're good for driving high-end listening equipment but you'd want an amplifier for those regardless. . .
