Which works better with BW?

Blue Moon Rising

OR

Killing Floor

Blue Moon Rising looks like it appeals more to UT2004 invasion gameplay which is a plus if I plan on using it with other invasion mods and it smaller for me to download. There are also promising reports of people using BW with it. The downside is that support for it stopped years ago and I don't know if it still works in general

Killing floor is higher quality, has more diversity and I know it still works, but I haven't heard of anyone using BW with it. It is also twice the size of Blue Moon Rising and may be beyond my downloading abilities

Do either of them support bots? Which should I go for?

I'd go with Killing Floor, it works a little bit better with BW and there are even a couple special maps that allow the Ballistic Weapons to be bought.

BMR is pretty fun, but it only has 3 different monster types.

Well I can only download one so Killing Floor it is.

What matters to me most is which one works best with BW

I got Killing Floor, now how do we get BW working on this thing? KF wont register the ballistic mutators as-is. Some additional setup is required.

I'm looking for anyway I can configure which weapons spawn in a map and wether or not they appear in the trade menu.

PS: Just how many bullets can that damn Patriarch take!?

Haha! That's funny!
You can't play killing floor with bw weapons, but I've just figured out how to play normal Invasion with KF monsters (and bw weapons) though! ^^

You lied to me Kelly! Ok, well I'll try Blue Moon Rising now since some people have said they got Ballistic Weapons in it.

If all else fails then Vani's strategy of adding zombies to normal invasion is the way to go. I'm just hoping I can include more atmospheric gameplay while I am at it

How did you get that to work? I've been looking around for any articles or discussions that explain how to add additional weapons, but nothing.

KF doesn't seem to let you configure the weapons outside of setting up a new map that explicitly uses new weapons

Actually, you could do my tactic too, because a Killing Floor Gamemode will be added in the menu...
I guess Kelly just added the files into the KF folder and spawned the weapons, didn't he?

I don't remember what I did, to be honest. Though whenever I want to play KF with BW I just turn on Loadout or play one of the special KF-BW maps.

So what maps are you using? I am on the lookout for good KF maps:
-Bot support
-Zombies can find the player easily
-No bugs

Also Blue Moon Rising seems to be dead i could easly play BW with it but it had few problemms rendering stuff as far as i know like it wont show up special text etc...

And for Killing Floor go look for its ini i think killingfloor.ini there must give a line which says where it should load stuff.
Try to add lines to load from UT2004 folder structure too.
I dint try it because there is no more support for KF mod

The Survival Map Pack from TheMiasma is the best one.

Just play on the official Miasma Server.
It's marked green on the server list.
