Post subject:  Visiting the states this month
You may or may not have noticed (you most likely did not notice) that I have not been very active recently. But I'm not abandoning the forum (I have unfinished mapping and modding projects after all)

My excuse is that I have been pre-occupied with my upcoming vacation in the good 'ol USA

Starting this week, I'm going to fly over to California and later move over to Oregon. I'm gonna spend about 3 weeks vacation there, mainly visiting my American family. Then my Sister is having a wedding in Oregon and I have to be there or she will kill me.

I'll come back to New Zealand in late July. I promise I will get the tactical rifle finished when I get back ;)

Any of you guys in Cali? Maybe I can come visit :D

Africa ain't great with it's mosquitoes (the insects too).. hah, hah, hah.. uuhhh..

New Zealand has its own fair share of flying dirty needles too. Last time I was in Cali, there did not seem to be as many of those little anclebiters there as there were over here.

However I have been told that NZ mosquito's are not as huge (doesn't make them any less annoying)

Well I'f you're looking for troublesome mosquitoes, Africa has it covered(although I'm sure South America is worse), here they're loaded with malaria!, and summer is their fiesta..... ;)

I've seen documentary on the insects in Africa, I think mosquitoes are the least of your worries there.

In addition to that, do African insects drop rare artifacts when you slay them? Or do you kill them only to unlock the door to the next dungeon?

What the hell is wrong with you guys? seriously?

Health bars on insects? seriously? really? come on now!

If anything they take cover behind from conviently placed waist high walls and wipe the jam off their faces!

But then the wildlife in general is the least of Africa's worries... ;)

Well at least africa is a good inspiration for making games since people are seing health bars on insects and rare artifacts being dropped when we kill insects, we just need insecticide bombs, flare guns and here we go.

Just recently I ran into a few African insects in Diablo 2. They take a good sized sword to take down. Some inferno spells would have worked better but I was playing as a Paladin and didnty have those kind of abilities.

Anyway, I'm here in San Fransisco now :D

No mosquitoes so far

Well I'm back in New Zealand, time to resume things as normal

However I got myself Portal 2 and Starcraft 2 and that's distraction enough

In fact I'm Playing Starcraft 2 right now
