Okay, this update is probably going to be the biggest one to date, its going to feature Adventure update, to flesh out the game a bit and make exploration and combat more rewarding. Note that this is not Adventure Mode. New features in the terrain generator; things which will only appear in new worlds/new generated areas. Underground Ravines including canyons on the surface and ledges to walk on. Ruins, consisting of 4 new blocks: Stone Brick, Mossy Stone Brick, Cracked Stone Brick, and Iron Jail Bars. (names unconfirmed) New Mushroom biome which will include Huge Mushrooms, both brown and red. Shift+Click on items will work correctly. Labels for items will be added. Multiplayer server list. Improved server join screen: The server join screen will feature a list of servers Spike blocks, Jeb initially considered Spike Pistons, but then decided to make a Spike block that can be pushed by the Sticky Piston Player List - Press tab in multiplayer and player list comes up. At least one new mob. Silverfish (New scary mob) (Unconfirmed) New improved lighting — day/night cycles will not require chunk updates. Lighting will be updated via a texture, whose coordinates are the block's sky light and block light levels. Warmer light from torches. Possibly Experience Orbs. Has not been confirmed by Notch, but is a possible explanation for the Twitter clues he's been leaving. Other secret projects. Redstone circuits not working after time set (x) glitch going to be fixed in SMP. NPC Villages New combat Mechanics New texture for moss stone Possibly a new farming method/item. This could be the Cocoa Beans tree Jeb was talking about. Different game modes. Limited flying in Creative mode The ability to allow moderators to enter creative mode in SMP. The ability to store multiple food items more efficiently in inventory. Sliders for field of view and gamma in video options. New launcher (Possibly). User placed leaf blocks won't decay. This i pulled from the minecraft wiki But DAMNNN If they just finished 1.7 then this is going to be a LONG way off, i'd estimate it to be at least 5 week before they even announce a time for the update. |

A new minecraft idea, Okay, this is my idea, Notch at the moment uses 16 X 16 X 128 Blocks In every map also known as chunks it makes infinite maps possible Right? No, it dosnt because you can only build upwards to 128, This makes 1:1 Scale objects like towers Impossible So why not extend it and have new chunks generate above the 128 line, And have it configurable in the settings, For instance like Draw Distance only It'd be called Map height 128, 248, 1024 Like that So it'd work on every computer also if you build something thats at 248 have the health deteriorate while your outside like in water since at that height lack of oxygen is a definite, but have it longer say 5 mins before you take damage at the height of 248 So you have to keep going down and up and down, Which to me makes it realistic, You'd be able to make 1:1 Scale replicas of every building on planet earth! And you wont need to generate new worlds because its in the sky! Good idea or not? |

boost the max height? I like that. Lack of oxygen and indefinite map height? Not so much He has not made an infinite map size, at least not a non-buggy one... Have you ever travelled to the edge? Mal P.S and the oxygen thing just seems... eh... ^^; |
