So I went to Meps today for a physical, and I got screwed over, I have been Disqualified for active duty for my eye sight, that I had surgery to correct. it gets better, im half way thru this paper work stack and i realize that the meps checking security, spells my name wrong, then I have to start 3 hours of paper work over again, so my day is going well.(not), moving back to the eye thing. the meps doc, who I hate cus this guy let me pass thru this thing the first time. tells me I need to get a piece of paper from my eye doctor saying my eyes are ok(which I did last time I was there) so now have to wait 3 to 4 weeks before i may go back to meps and finish my physical. this means that i am no longer able to applie for active duty, which really means im not getting paid. which if you like money, sucks. so im trying to find a way to get this thing fixed as fast I can, my family friend who is a lawyer says I have a case. in which im getting disqualified, for information that's was already present.
really there is no point to this thread i just wanted to tell the forum that Meps sucks.

Hey, look at the bright side, at least you don't have to worry about Militants blowing your Humvee up with IED's or RPG's, or getting bolted in the head with a bullet. :P

Unless your planning to be an Airman or a Shipmate instead of being Army-man... :whistle:

Then you don't have to worry about getting your plane shot down by a MANPAD or having your boat getting bombed by sneaky sneaky peeps. :lol:

yeah i am healthy, and i passed my first Meps trip, its just a delay ill still be going on active duty.

Well, if you get in, go ahead and kick some Militant Ass. :D

One of my friends who used to be in service said he popped a Militant's head with a Barrett M107. Dunno if thats a good thing... i don't want to see no head asplosions. Overall try not to get traumatized by the ways of war, its a nasty thing. :shock:

o I plan on it, ill get in with a waver for my eyes. pass a vision test, and be on my way. just have to wait for paperwork, which is why ill be waiting 3-4 weeks

IMO, i would prefer to get a different GF if she bosses you around like that IMO. :-\

its my life choice :) and, National Guard, then branching to Army. they are the same thing really, only difference is funding.
Also as an update, i got the paper work filled out, and everything is ready to go, but my shipping date, has been pushed way back...

Okay, then. Just be sure you understand what you're getting yourself into. I just got back (released us at 2000) from an overnight .50 cal/MK19 range and they still want us to show up at 0700 for PT in the morning. There's some good times to be had here, but there's also a lot of BS. Piles of it.

Hey man,

You'll be fine. I had to get a waiver for asthma(big no no in the military) and got in after i admitted to trying pot a few times(call me dumb but it worked out for the best that i told the truth). I waited almost a year to ship off to bootcamp after ditching the coast guard because they didn't give a shit about me.

As long as you provide paperwork by a doctor clearing you from what could disqualify(like in my case) you'll be fine. Just keep fighting and you'll be off to basic in a matter of time.

What will you be doing in the national guard?
I'm in the Air force btw.
