This year looks to be a big one when it comes down to new releases. Any of you planning on picking up this year's AAA assortment?

I for one am definitely getting the new Battlefield, mainly due to the fact that it looks absolutely gorgeous on the PC. I'll probably be picking up an Xbox copy of Modern Warfare 3 because, well, shooting is fun and every American with an Xbox has it.

Yeah, there have been some (seemingly) awesome things released and still coming this year. Unfortunately, me not got much time to play games. Hopefully I'll get some of them sooner or later.
I'm interested in Serious Sam: BFE, Rage, The Witcher 2, uhh, shit... damn, I forget. Brain clogged with code right now. I'll remember later when someone reminds me what else's coming(ed) out this year.

I'm definitely most interested in Rage, Witcher 2, Brink, Serious Sam 3 and the new Assassins Creed (which probably won't be on PC til next year, but anyway).

Hard Reset also looks like it might be good.

Rage and Hard Reset definitely caught my eye too. I decided to pre-order Rage and get the Steam ID pack at the same time. Now I have about 100 games that I'll never find the time to play. :P

Im planning to get BF3 as well, just need to upgrade my PC first.

speaking of which, can anyone find the cheapest version of these components?

the game itself.

560 GTX video card.

Windows 7 software

500GB Harddrive(gonna keep the old one and use the multiboot method so i dont risk losing my older stuff)

I really want to get prepared.

IMO they are addressing the errors of MW2, they are bring back sum of the COD4 goods in MW3, to help fix things up.

Ill have to w8 to get that game though, i only have enough money for a PC upgrade and BF3.

Most of the time I don't even know whats being released(my mind's a little lost). :?

But I'd have to say Skyrim most of all, then Rage, Witcher 2, Brink, and Serious Sam which ain't bad either, but I prefer games with story lines or more meaningful characters, looking forward to Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim for those reasons.. ;)

I just bought Deus ex on Xbox and i got gears of war 3, both are amazing. Skyrim looks awesome, as does SS3, but modern warfare 3 looks like the 2nd one with a couple more guns. I am NOT playing £40 for the same bloody game, its a total piss take. And i've never been interested in the battlefield series, just looks like a slower version of COD, so i'll pass.

I just remembered some more. In addition to SS3, Rage and The Witcher 2, I'll be looking to get a look at Brink, Space Marine, Hard Reset and especially get my grubby mits on Diablo 3 and Batman: Arkham City. Shit, there isn't enough time in the day!

Don't get brink, it's shit, really, really bad shit. :snooty:

Trust me, I played it. *nod* It's got horrible AI, lackluster singleplayer, glitchy online, lag and so on, the extreme weapon, character and class customization is not worth the money.

I'll have to see for myself. I mean, I'm not an online player, I didn't even think of its single-player, and everybody everywhere always says everything has horrible AI. Are the bots better or worse than UT's or CS:S's?
Character customization, LAN, coop, bots and guns are what I'm interested in.

I'm with SX on that one DC...

I tried it for the very same reasons you suggested! it had a free weekend on steam ya see. To sum it up for you. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON IT.

The character customisation is ok. not too bad, but to be honest, i really don't know know how they've done this -but- all the characters look exactly the same in a firefight. seriously. The guns all sound crap, feel crap and look kinda crappy too. The bots are really just totally shit. so thats co-op out too, lan might be good, i didn't get to try. uh... what else... oh yeah, the map design is bloody awful, they could have done some really good stuff with that movement system, but they didn't, theres no point in it at all.

Please, don't spend money on that hunk of crap.

Also, SAINTS ROW 3!!!!! hell yes.

ShadowBlades Right WTF has the pc done to be the last one to get the games, and when it gets games there Freaking Ports!!!! Saints Row 2 is a prime Example of this, They basically took it off xbox changed the controls and Threw it to the pc ITS A F***ING Joke! Pc Gamers Are just as good as Xbox or Ps3 Yet game company's think pc gamers are a dying breed, I played Dead Island And Pressing the Y Key MADE YOU DAMN FLOAT, Seriously Thats how bad a port it is.. Calm down there Grizz, and avoid those walls of text, eh?

While Consoles do take priority over PCs, maybe you should consider the other side of things. Building for console means you are building this on a defined set of hardware, no need to worry about compatibility with certain chipsets or combinations or drivers or OSs, just what the console has and that's all. The benefit of this is that it forces developers to really make their engines run smoothly with limited resources, which in turn benefits PC games by not having a bunch of Crysis type games with outrageous requirements with little graphical difference to the next more efficient engine.

As far as waiting for a port, that is outrageous that you can complain about 4 months. If they would've rushed it you would have a steaming pile of unplayable crap, and you would instead be complaining about how terrible the Assassin's Creed port is instead of the 4 month wait.

And everything you say about game companies not making games with pride and no DLC for PC games seems to suggest you have absolutely no knowledge of Bethesda's existence, which is really quite a shame.

And do not condone piracy on this forum. We will have none of that.

There are still lots of good games coming out for the PC and even ones not available to the consoles.

The PC does have one big advantage over the boxes and that is that it is an open platform, developers don't have to pay Sony or Microsoft a massive license fee to ship to it.

I actually don't notice the delayed releases, cause I usually get games long after they've been released anyway. Why do people like to buy games on day 1? I still don't understand why people like consoles, they are just far too "nerfy", you can't do anything except play games, you pay more money for the games, you are limited to certain games, and there are no nice patches or hard drive solutions... :roll:

Drop the consoles and stick with the PC, use laptops if you have to have portable games.. :handgestures-thumbupright:

At least when you get bored you can make something for some of your games, not to mention the superior network options.. I despise split-screen games.. ;)

Split screen is the reason why the Halo franchise is still my favorite MP fps. 4 player split-screen + system link means we need only four systems + game copies + tvs to get 16 players without needing to lug around a computer that might play the game if you have enough hard drive space to install, and no hunting down the patches or cd keys and hastily installing to get the game going.

Just setup the systems, set up the game type and play. Plus Halo's awesome customization means we don't have to play Death Match the same way every time (not that we even play DM any more :P )

Not everyone see's that, the console is more........practical for someone who just needs something to do really quick, i have an xbox 360, use its for when im tired of bf2, and just need to no skill people in cod, because my pc isnt that great. so i get games that i can run for console
