The XRS-10 is NOT based on the the TEC-9, but a similar weapon named the Intratec AB-10.

Sorry SX, but the AB-10 (which is practically the same as the TEC-9) lacks the threaded barrel that the XRS-10 uses for its silencer. Though it looks like that was the picture it was modeled/textured off of. |

Probably a design change for the XRS-10, since the real life version of the AB-10 doesn't have a threaded barrel, or the barrel shroud of the regular TEC-9. *nod* Still, it's nearly dead on, is it not? |

So I failed to base it on a TEC-9 and inadvertently based it on something identical to a TEC-9 when attempting to base it on something simply called a "TEC"? If I recall correctly (and I do), I wasn't aiming to replicate anything other than a nameless design which required certain features. Um, what's the difference between the TEC-9 and the TEC-9AB-10, besides the name? The main things I know about the TEC (without cheating and quickly going to Wikipedia) is that it seems to have several names for basically the same thing, is a terrifying ASSAULT WEAPON if you're a paranoid fauxmedia casualty and is mostly a lousy weapon. Now let us all consider how the heretical SX's so called "truth" threatens our utopian paradise and then we'll lynch him! |

It wasn't a direct response to you, last I checked. I was trying to get the facts straight about people calling the XRS-10 a TEC-9, when it really is an AB-10. So lynching an innocent might be a karmatic stain on you.

If this was infinity ward, and not Runestorm, we would care that our weapons are not precisely based on a real life weapon..  But fortunately we are not Infinity Ward, and as such we have something call an "Imagination" which allows us to make things not previously thought up without caring what it looks similar to, Imagine that!..  While some weapons are based on real life ones, they were made to look similar but not as an accurate representation of an exact model number..  Thus, one can talk at great length in the attempts to precisely label such a weapon, but none will be exact, because its not an exact model...  So call it a TEC-9.. |

And that's good  though I often avoid to use existing weapon designs even if it happen that they inspire me somehow.
